I'm done with the Rubio debate. The numbers speak for themselves regarding Ricky's production and net contribution to the team. And the notion of turning the PG reins over to an unproven rookie instead of Rubio is nonsense.
The idea that teams don't bother to employ the most effective defense against the Wolves during the season because of the Wolves overall record is preposterous, although I agree with Abe that defensive approaches often change and become far more nuanced in the playoffs. Let's just hope we finally get to the playoffs to find out how effectively teams defend us with Rubio at PG. Right now, between Dunn and Rubio, there should be no question that Ricky gives us a much better shot than Dunn of making the playoffs.
How things look a year from now will be interesting. We'll see how Dunn develops this season and we'll also see if Thibs is everything he's chalked up to be.
Should be an exciting season. I have a lot of confidence in the continued development of KAT, Andrew, Zach and Gorgui. I also have confidence in Thibs as a HUGE step up from Sam as head coach. Add two or three solid free agents and then let's roll.
