What's the status of Bojanovich or whatever his name is, our euro-trash? Is he a big?

If I think you're talking about who I think you're talking about he's 24 and just signed a new contract with his team through 2018. He won't be coming over here for a few years if he does come over.

It's tough to find these details but I do believe he has an out in that contract after 2016/2017 season of that 3 year deal he signed in the summer of 2015. That's what it looks like to me based on a quick google search but I wouldn't say anything absolutely difinitive but that's also how I remember it when I learned of the deal.
Also yes he is a big. He sort of an undersized Center or could play PG that's not explosively athletic but strong and likes to use his strength in the paint but also is a very good 3 point shooter which is probably the most appealing part of his game.

Would anyone have interest in Tiago Splitter if Atlanta wanted to just dump his 8.5 million salary? If healthy he would help but that's been sort of a problem for him throughout his career.

Part of me wonders if Horford leaves do the Hawks blow it up and put Millsap on the table. Dieng and Bazz as more ready made pieces on the ends of their rookie deals while still retaining restricted control over them could be a decent offer for a rebuilding team. With Orlando out of the mix after the Ibaka deal we are probably top 3 in terms of good assets they could get for Millsap on essentially an expiring deal. They're gonna likely lose Millsap after next year if they are just starting the rebuild process and he would help us be a playoff team next year helping our ability to retain him for a short deal for big money as his last big contract. 3/70 with the third year as a player option would keep our flexibility going into the summer Towns will get paid and then maybe he's a discount guy until the end of his career chasing a title with us.

Not a rim protector and, as you said, a history of injury. Aldrich is a much better option, and probably not much more expensive.

You know, the more I think about it, the more I'm interested in making an offer for Boban Marjanovic! He's restricted (I think). His per-minute numbers are great. He has a PER of 28! He's fucking HUGE. I still remember that game last year when he came out and just fucking ate our lunch, took our milk money. He was strangely underused in San Antonio so he probably won't have many other bidders. But San Antonio knows what he's worth. They might not match though if they're worried about trying to land a big name. This is my new passion: WE NEED TO SIGN BOBAN!!!!!!!!
Per 36 minutes, Boban averages 21 and 14. I'm not saying he can do that every night. But man, give that dude 20 minutes per game and he'll put up 12 and 8 on 60% shooting and a 7'3" wall to put in the fucking paint on defense. Yes please!
Now, if there is no God and dreams don't come true, here are some other thoughts on bigs . . .
If we're looking for an affordable, good, defensive center for a big rotation with Towns, Dieng, and Bjelica, maybe Ian Mahinmi? He doesn't seem to be ranked very high on some of these free agent boards, but I think the dude is good. Like Ezeli but cheaper. Nice big body to bang.
Or Zaza? No rim protection there though. Outside of Horford (and Whiteside, who I don't think I'd even want), I don't see much that really excites me. If Noah were even somewhat healthy and wouldn't demand the max, I'd love that, but I'm afraid 1) he's not healthy, and 2) he'll get the max. I really liked Biyombo, but then he went and Biyombo'd the playoffs so we can't afford him.
We still need a 3 point shooter though, probably more importantly, so a guy like Dudley or Marvin Williams would be good. Batum will probably be too expensive.
But again, for bigs, I'd love to get BOBAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice essay there on the merits and magic of Boban. However, I suspect he has issues when switched onto guards and wings, many of whom you can't give space to anymore since so many will knock down the 3. Mobility in defending out on the perimeter and in space is so key for big men these days....
As for the other guys you mention, Mahinmi is a big fish in my opinion and will be expensive. That dude has developed into a very nice defensive anchor. And when Thibs talks about getting bigger and tougher, I can see him going in the direction of a Mahinmi (or Pachulia, who would be cheaper) for some interior strength and defense. Neither are the types of guys to be on the floor in close games late in 4th quarters, but they help us match up against bigger teams early in halves.

Yes, but can those guys hold a lay-z-boy in the palm of their hand? :)
