Zach Lavine improved leaps and bounds under flip. Under Sam he has wilted. This is how bad coaching can stifle a players development.
Good coaches try to harness what players do well and bolster their weakness over time. Sam is no different than rambis, putting players in a position to fail purposely.

Give up on a guy with less than 1.5 years experience in the league who was drafted as a project. Cause that makes sense.
We've seen this team give up on other players with just as much service time, and in that regard we haven't been burned by it.
Matter of fact, answer me this:
What is the payoff towards for this whole "educating Zach" thing? We can sit here and say Towns will be this elite two way big. We can sit here and say Wiggins could be this next elite wing or whatever, right or wrong. What is the goal with this guy? I know what Flip and Sam's plan was/is, but what is he supposed to become that will make us all feel like "thank God we stuck with him?"
Because honestly I don't see it. Even in a best case scenario, I don't even see it being done in a Wolves uniform.

Just be patient fellas, we'll draft another 19 year old and in 7 years we'll be somewhat relevant.

I agree completely. Him not being able to find a role didn't begin with us, but was part of the reality of his situation at UCLA. He absolutely killed the game tonight.

Give up on a 20 year old? Jeez Wildwolf give him at least another couple of years before making such judgments.
Plus I wouldn't blame Flip. Sam's the one whose got no idea what do to with Zach. First he was the starting SG now he's a full time back up PG.

Zach was in the running fir 6th man of the year before this month of poor play, come on guys I am frustrated also but come on!!! Players usually make the jump in the 3rd year and Zach has improved this year alone.

Can't give up on LaVine yet. He's 20-years old, shows plenty of promise, has the physical tools AND he's cheap. You can be patient with those players. He's not being used like he should, though. I still stand by that.

He also was averaging 14, 3.5 and 3.5 until the January (where he has played bad). He also is averaging 20 and 7.5 as a starter (small sample size).
Give him time he has shown more promise than other former wolves in wes and dwill

Again I ask. What is the payoff for waiting for him to learn how to play basketball?
Re: Another damn fork - Wolves at Pelicans GDT
Overall sam rotation minutes for non'starters have been so wildly inconsistent. Lavine/shabazz/belly/payne/tyus/kmart I know all these guys can't play every night but we go one week some of these guys are playing 20+ minutes a night to not seeing the court for multiple games. We have no direction and constantly, what are we trying to do win games or develop players because the message seems to switch week by week and game by game
