Belly is so f'n hesitant to shoot, no way he shoots well until the mind disengages.

Now that's the kind of reffing I've come to expect! Completely bogus call when the Wolves actually had a chance.

But still, very encouraging run of games for the Wolves recently!

Dieng is the one who consistently makes bonehead plays. Belly is just too unsure of himself. PF is where we seem to be most deficient.

Good to see we were competitive in this one. While I'm very surprised that Pek is back and playing regular rotation minutes again, let's face it, he's not even close to the same player he was and trading out an old KG for a rusty Pekovic is a huge downgrade.

Mitchell needs to keep playing Pek because we literally have nothing to lose. But so far he has been a liability out there.

It's amazing. We have never had a roster this healthy that I can recall, yet we will be lucky to win 25 games this year. Disappointing.

I really hope Belly doesn't go down the Shved path. He is too talented for that. The thing is, even if he is not letting the ball fly, teams do pay attention to him out there and he almost always lines up behind the arc. Our spacing is so much better when he's on the floor.

Belly man I see him being useful out there. I think he is being more unselfish than hesitant. Remember this guy used to be a PG type guy still is. He wasn't a big scorer in Europe. I like what he brings he is gonna be a nice player. He is a much smarter player than Shved was. Shved was/is a high volume needed the ball in his hands player.

I didn't see that rebound Dieng lost out of bounds late that well on the Cavs broadcast but it took a bad bounce of the rim. Dieng was more good than bad in this game by far. I wonder if they put something sticky on his shoes to keep him down since he didn't travel. Lol

I need to give some props here to the Cavs broadcast team. They were pretty good. They seemed to actually have done their homework and knew the Wolves players pretty well especially considering they broadcast for the Cavs and are in the eastern conference. They are not a fan of Runio's D but in fairness to them I think Cavs guys have done well against him in recent games.* they were pretty hard on their home team for how they were playing. The people making decisions of what to show on the screen were pretty bad though it drove me nuts. Anyway I like listening to Pete explain the game but it was ok to hear what another broadcast team had to say and they were not idiots! Yey!

*can anyone explain to me how guard should be playing on these screens? Rubio was looking bad and Wiggins always seems to get hung up on them for what seems like years.

Does anyone else think Delly looks a little more trim this year? Man that guy can play. I was a fan of his his senior year in college and thought he had a chance but he really is a nice player.

This is one of my pet peeves with this team, both on offense and defense.

Offensively, some of our young guys either don't always set proper screens or one of our young ball handlers (ahem - LaVine!) isn't patient enough for the screen to be set and his guy easily gets around it.

On defense, and this dates back to last year, we have struggled mightily to get over the top of screens and recover to the ball handler quickly. It's one of those defensive skills that is highly underrated, but super important. The quicker we can fight over the top of the screens, the less pressure that puts on the hedging big man and he can get back to his guy. Wiggins, LaVine, Rubio, and Shabazz all struggle with this. Prince actually seems pretty damn good at it.

In my opinion it's about 3 things: 1) Communicating that the screen is coming, 2) then pressing up on the ball handler to create as little space as possible between you and him as the screen gets set, and 3) then fighting like hell to get around the screen. That's where sometimes I don't see enough "dog" in our young guys. They get caught in the screen and then make a half-hearted effort to recover. It's too late!!!!
