Muhammad for PJ Tucker

Post by KiwiMatt »

Just read on Hoopshype that Timberwolves offered Muhammad for PJ Tucker. Doesn't make much sense to me as both are expiring.

I understand some of the logic -- more defense and veteran toughness. Free trial for the remainder of the season, and probably less expensive to re-sign than Shabazz. Although I would hope we get something more than just Tucker...

Tucker is exactly the type of player we need...next year.

This year I would rather just see 33 games of Bazz starting at the 3 and Wiggs at the 2, and see what happens.

I read the other day that there are a bunch of teams that want Tucker. Basically the Suns are going to offer him to the highest bidder if they get a good enough offer and they were likely to ask for a 1st round pick which probably has more trade value than Bazz because of his contract situation. Tucker is the kind of player this team needs. I wish we could sign him this offseason depending on the price and what else is available.

I think Tucker is more valuable to this team than Bazz. We really need a tough defensive wing on this team until Wiggins and Zach fill out and improve on that end. The only thing I worry about with him is he is 31. That means we get maybe 2 more good years out of him. I would likely not do the trade at the end of the day though. I don't think that's good value for Bazz.

If we trade bazz then I'd prefer to trade for someone locked into at least two more seasons. We still can match on bazz where as we likely lose tucker this off season.
