I was kind of hoping he'd pull a Larry Bird and just go for the win. They gave him a fairly open look on the initial catch from Rubio. If he missed, we'd still have a chance at long O-board.

I wish he would have taken that wide open 3. Oh well, we didn't deserve that one anyway.

Fantastic post SP.

I'm about as consistent with "fantastic posts" as Wiggins, maybe less so! :)

They didn't win but it was pretty damn good effort by the Wolves in 2nd half. After getting blown up that first half they allowed 44 points the rest of the way.

I thought he should have just taken that 3 also. I guess he wanted to take that last shot. That does make some sense.

First off, credit to Wiggins for having a good 2nd half after he laid an egg in the 1st half, and he made big plays down the stretch. That said...

1) Down 1 after the turnover, the court was spread and the guy guarding him was back on his heels. Yeah the long 2 is open, but Wiggins needs to just drive that right to the hole. Just force the defense to make a play. Shooting the long 2 is letting them off the hook. He has to learn to be aggressive in the end of games!

2) It's hindsight now, but YES you shoot the open 3 because if you miss you still have time to rebound the ball. Either that or again I'd rather see him force the issue and try to drive all the way to the hole or maybe make a pass. Lets face it, we all know what Thibs is trying to do here with Wiggs at the end of games, but he simply isn't an elite playmaker at this point in his career. Not even close. And most of the problem in my opinion is above the neck.

Wiggins was tremendous in the 2nd half. 2 late steals were huge. I too wish he would have taken a long 3 to try to win it at the end. He had a clear look there. Wiggins is better shooting the 3 off the dribble anyway than he is on the catch.

It is frustrating that wig don't average 1stl per game. He can be a lot more disruptive than he is if he is just engaged or gambled some. Thibs does not like gambling on d though and wiggins usually guard the best wing player of the other team.

It's why Wiggins is for now "just" a scorer.

I don't see how a guy that has never been known - going back to his KU days - as a high-impact all around player becomes one when it isn't evident after nearly three NBA seasons.

He is what he is. I think he'll keep developing a better offensive repertoire and continue to hone his shot. But he is not the next elite jack-of-all trades wing that is a nightly triple double threat or shut down defensive hawk. I still say he'll become a slightly better version of DeRozan. That's a damn good player, but it's not a superstar.

As much as I'd like to flog the Wolves over this loss, let's face it. Miami is white hot right now. They had won 10 straight prior to the game tonight and they just freakin' execute. Even Wayne Ellington was shooting with confidence. Spoelstra has these guys playing loose, but smart too (well, except for the end there...they almost choked that game away).

Still....regardless of excuses, we've lost 4 straight and we just couldn't afford to lose probably more than 2 out of the last 4 games. I don't even like our chances of getting more than 30 wins at this point. One look at the month of March and most folks may just want to fast forward to the end.

Very, very, very disappointing season.

This is the season where quite frankly I don't believe in any person on this team from Glen Taylor on down. Jim Pete is the only thing elite about this organization.

What's really discouraging is that you can't go into next season with the enthusiasm that was had for this season. After another draft pick-- if that, or a trade for a fringe starter who is a vet, and even a Rubio trade, can we as fans really be enthusiastic anymore about the short term outlook of this team? I don't see how. I can't look forward to continued improvement of KAT and Wiggins when in my opinion I feel like they've regressed.

Wait you don't think this team can go 10 and 20 the rest of the way? Yikes. Its really too bad the Wolves fans have been sold on hope too many times.
