and if anyone read Yahoo's piece on the Wolves in terms of the trade deadline, this team doesn't have much in the way of assets either.
Didn't read it. What was the gist?

Basically saying when you remove "the big three" (saying that loosely), the only way they can improve the team via trade is by trading Rubio and there's no way to think that will improve the team. All they have is capspace unless they wanna do something radical.
It wasn't a long piece, just a part of a series they're doing.

Just ranks trade assets.
Literally has towns as franchise. Wiggins and Lavine as core. Rubio and Gorgui starter and bazz as role player. With tyus and Dunn as development.
Can't trade our 1st until 2022 (2020 the soonest if make playoffs next year)
No insight to the article at all

Agreed, although our lottery pick + a non-big 3 player might still fetch us something fairly good.

But we can trade the first after we drafted it, correct?

I just don't see those players out there to be had (and if they are, they will cost more than what we can offer)
If the Wolves wanna do something impressive, start buying picks.
