Hmm...interesting, but I'm not surprised. Burger, the Lion, or Martin Luther?

I didn't click the link but is Elvis alive? I wasn't aware he was interested in Rubio earlier mostly because I thought he was still dead.

We teased Duke about this, me included, but Mitch Lawrence said the Kings were saying they were close to acquiring a PG, believed to be Rubio. Discussions are over though, thankfully...whether or not they actually existed.

Rumor is that the Kings want to get as many PGs from that draft as possible so they are still in on getting Rubio. :) Lawson, Collison and Rubio can all play together right? :)

I can tell you with absolute certainty that neither the Kings nor any other team was ever close to getting Rubio. Thibs was willing to give up Ricky for Jimmy Butler but that's it and no deal was ever close with the Bulls. Thibs was willing to give up anyone other than KAT, Wiggins or LaVine for Butler over whom Thibs has a huge man crush. But Thibs loves Ricky. But that shouldn't be a surprise to anyone given Thibs' emphasis on defense, rebounding and ball movement -- all right in Ricky's wheelhouse. If Dunn turns out to be a stud PG and the right deal comes along, I could see Thibs trading Ricky a year or two from now. But he has never had Ricky on the trading block and is absolutely, positively not looking to trade him now or in the near future.

The Kings have three players on their roster who could match salaries in a deal for Ricky -- Cousins, Rudy Gay and Afflalo. Thibs was not about to trade his only proven starting caliber PG for Cousins or Gay. Cousins is not a Thibs kind of guy to say the least and Rudy would be redudant with Wiggins here. I don't think Afflalo is eligible to be traded yet having just been signed as a FA. Just some evidence of how silly this report was.
