Lebron didn't even flinch or react when Green hit him the first time so obviously he didn't hit him down south and Green was too busy being stepped over to see where he was aiming that shot. You can't step over a guy like that and that guy not get to retaliate at all. That's a punk play by Lebron so you can't complain about a response from Draymond.
Edit: After watching the replay, Lebron turned his head, but his lower body still didn't flinch at all when he got hit so he did take the shot to the private area.

I agree. Can't believe they don't run some triangle/corner action with Love at the elbow. It would allow for some movement by Irving and LeBron without the ball in their hands.
It was really bad late in the game. In addition what the hell were they doing just going for layup a every time down the floor trading layup a for FTs form GS. At least try a 3. It was weird.

At some point in the 3rd quarter the Cavs lost their defensive intensity yes. A couple times Curry and Klay I the 2nd half could have eaten a sandwich and texted their former NBA Dads how things were going before jacking up 3's. That wasn't the only problem (although I basically agree it may have been the biggest one) missed FTs were a factor as well plus Lebron with 7 TOs.
I've never been sure how I feel about LeBron. He was a jerk in the way he left the Cavs for the Heat. I also thought it was gutless of him to pursue a ring by orchestrating the creation of a super team in Miami. But he started to win me back when he returned to Cleveland.
Tonight's game gave me my definitive answer. LeBron is a punk. He was gutless in the way he kept deferring to his teammates in such an important game. And down the stretch when the Cavs were desperately trying to hang on with the foul game, he drove for easy uncontested layup a rather than taking what would have been tough threes, which was the only way his team had any remote chance of coming back. All that on top of his punk play against Green. On that one play where they were called for double fouls, LeBron fouled Green at least three times, including deliberately stepping over Green. Then there were his multiple fouls on Curry -- none of them called -- after which LeBron jaws with Curry. Down the stretch, the otherwise cocky LeBron looked like a loser.
LeBron gets incredibly special treatment from the refs, but still complains and tries to talk trash to opponents. He yells at his teammates, but doesn't step up and put them on his back in the playoffs the way Jordon, Barkley, Malone used to. There's no doubting LeBron's tremendous talent. And he definitely plays hard. But I find him to be a punk.

Yeah, Klay was giving Curry high ball screens and JR Smith and Irving simply were not on the same page as to how to defend it, leaving wide open 3s for either Klay or Curry. I'm surprised Golden State didn't keep going back to that.

What should they do about it? Fines are obviously not gonna do it. I think if they decide to be serious there has to be some protocol like techs and flagrant fouls a where suspensions loom. I'm not even sure that helps though.
In soccer, they give yellow cards to guys that obviously take a dive. They should hand out technicals to guys that do it in the NBA, although it can be hard to discern in live action play if someone is truly exaggerating. But the simple threat of a technical would help. I think there is definitely less flopping now than there was 5 years ago. The league overall has done a better job with it with the fines, etc.
I forgot about Iverson stepping over Lue in the 2001 finals...I wonder if Lue flashed back to that moment when LeBron channeled it! It looks like LeBron is getting the worst of the internet discussion about the play, and also some criticism for not stepping up enough for his team. I'm going to defend James on this one. He went 25, 13 and 9, and was by far the Cavs' best defender all night. I'm going to cut him some slack about both the stepover and his contributions...he's obviously frustrated realizing the Big 3 he helped assemble just isn't good enough to play with the 4 best teams in the West.
I'm sure most of us aren't expecting a very competitive Game 5 in Oakland.
I don't know....Green plays on the edge of dirtiness all the time with his flailing and histrionics on the court - he deserves a taste of his own medicine. If this were the old days, someone would pancaked him by now (think Greg Kite, Bill Laimbeer, or Rick Mahorn) with his antics. At the end of the day though, he got the last laugh.

I hate being too critical of Lebron the player. He is truly a great player no matter where you rank him he is clearly one of the best players ever to play the game.
However while he had nearly a triple double which should be lauded he had 7 turnovers and a few were bad ones. He is like chris Paul driving you nuts with him passing the ball when he clearly could just score over his guy. Now there were times Lebron couldn't just score over his guy when Iggy was on him or another solid defender but there were other times like when Curry was on him he had to take advantage or when he was so close to the rim. He just made some terrible decisions like the Shved-like in the air uncork jump pass. He deserves criticism for all that. If he wasn't such a great player he wouldn't get ripped too much for some of that.
I've never been a Lebron fan. I respect his game he is a terrific player but for some reason I've never felt a connection to his game. I think what bugged me about as much as anything was when he was playing physical D on Curry there late and Curry was going to the ref talking to him about it. I don't know what Curry said but he seemed to have a amused look on his face complaining but in a sort of jovial manner and then Lebron got all out of whack. I get it Lebron had to be really frustrated the guy is a competitor and things aren't looking good against the Warriors despite a very talented Cavs team led by Lebron. However Lebron complains about as much as anyone (some of it completely legit) so for him to get all pissy about Curry making a legit complaint the way he was idk it seemed kinda lame but oh well. It's not what In gonna remember Lebron by 10-20 years from now.
