Teddy Teddy Teddy

Post by Monster »

I didn't get to see the game tonight but it sounded like Both Cassell and Teddy played well and Teddy had a nice final drive. What did people take away from the game?

Teddy was pretty much flawless tonight. I mean he looked really damn good and a couple receivers dropped a few easy ones. Drove the team down the field like a veteran. He was so composed, and very accurate. It was really impressive. Was awesome to see. Cassell was all right and while he will most likely start the season I would much rather see Teddy in there. Really think we finally got a player in Bridgewater. Backups on the defense looked pretty rough tonight.

I am slightly going to disagree with you here sauce, Cassell and Teddy both played very well, I think you said Cassell was just alright because of the unknown of Teddy and hope for the future, Cassell deserves to be the starter, but Teddy was good, but it was pretty much dump offs, but he also had a perfect throw dropped for a touchdown and he was amazing on the 2 minute drill. Overall Cassell deserved to be the starter, but I am pumped for the future of Bridgewater.

Cassell was the better QB and will be the starter. His final stat line was damn near perfect.

I was at the game, both of them played extremely well. No reason to start Teddy let him get settled then bring him in later if Cassel craps the bed. One thing I loved about Teddy was early in the game he missed Simpson on a back shoulder throw I to the end zone and then on the final drive on the same exact throw hit Smith on the back shoulder.

I know that Cassell should start, but I just feel like Cassell isnt a guy who can lead us anywhere. Teddy needs game action as its the best way to learn. I personally dont believe a guy is better cause he sits behind someone. No better way to learn than to be in the game.

Cassell excelled tonight while playing against 1st and 2nd teamers. Teddy played well, but let's keep in mind he played against guys who won't be playing once the season starts. Cassell has looked a lot better now that we actually have a good coordinator calling the shots. I'm looking forward to Teddy playing in the future, but I'd be much more pleased to see him grow in the NFL behind a successful Cassell for a year or two then being thrown to the wolves out of the gate.

I watched a video of last week's game with all the Teddy plays. I love how the ball comes out and he clearly knows what he is doing out there. What did everyone think of this week's performance?

I think Philip Rivers is an elite QB in the NFL and the Chargers are going to surprise everyone.

Oh, wait, you asked about Teddy. I haven't watched that game replay yet. :thumb:

I have to admit I haven't seen much of the pre-season (only seen the stats and read the reviews), but Bridgewater appears to be the real deal. That said, Cassel has outplayed him so far and deserves to start. But Teddy's day will come, and maybe soon. So glad we drafted him and not Johnny Nightclub.

Overall you have to like what the new coaching staff has doe with the Vikings so far, and don't forget the offense becomes much more potent when Peterson makes his first carry. Could be a good year, if the offensive line can give the QB's any protection at all.

I like Cam's Chargers too. I loved their draft and I don't know if many realize how good Rivers was last year. I see them leapfrogging the Chiefs this year and going down to the wire with the Broncos.
