News item: Giannis Antetokounmpo will be the Bucks starting point guard for the 2016-17 season, according to head coach Jason Kidd.
If this is true, that is good news for Wolves fans who want Ricky to stay in Minnesota and not be traded to the Bucks. It will be nice to see what a healthy Ricky can accomplish in an offseason. Maybe, he'll be spending a lot of time with Penbethy and taking lots and lots of shots.
Giannis to Point Guard

YOU THE MAN! Long live RR as the Minny Timber wolves PG. He makes his team mates better.

Nevermind the Ricky angle, I just find it fascinating that he is becoming a full-time PG. He could seriously become a 7-foot version of Ricky Rubio. That's just really damn scary.

Well he won't be the passer or floor general that Ricky is but yeah. It will be interesting to see how that plays out. I am still a little skeptical but I don't see him enough to be convinced. This makes me think back to when KG came into the league. I still think you could have played him at any position and he would have been an all-star including PG.

Agree. His potential to disrupt what other teams do is enormous. Think of the matchup nightmares teams will have dealing with him. Most big guys who can handle the ball and pass haven't been quite good enough to actually play the point full time. Either their handles or their passing aren't good enough to avoid turnovers against aggressive defenders or they aren't quick enough to deal defensively with quick opposing PGs without getting into foul trouble, especially with the hand-check rule. LeBron might be the lone exception, and he's usually been used with at least one other ball handler (usually a scoring PG) and LeBron defends off the ball to avoid drawing fouls. So it's like LeBron is offensively the point, but defensively that small forward--a point forward. But Giannis could actually play the point on both sides of the ball. That's what makes this so interesting. Can he do it? We'll find out, and it should be interesting to see.
