For the record, I've raved about Jones in the past. I've rarely seen a more composed freshman PG in college at that level. He's very smart. But the athleticism has been an issue... and it puts him in tough spots that negates his feel for the game. For example, he had a play yesterday where he had the angle, the defender caught up... and he was forced to react on the fly... and made a horrendous pass to start a break the other way. It's not the decision that alarmed me.

It was that he didn't really have a chance to succeed on that play...

Obviously, I would love for the smart, undersized local kid would thrive. I love those things about a player!

Tyus has grown on me the past 2 months. He is a player that you want to root for. He is undersize and not athletic but plays hard, is I ncredibly smart and just know how to play the game. You want to see him do well.

That said, we need an upgrade at backup of position. Someone who can play starter minutes in case of injury and also play with Rubio at times. Chalmers was someone I wanted prior to his injury, but bad luck for him with his injury. Jeremy Lin would be nice to have.

Here's a nitpick....Why is it that whenever Bjelica is involved in screen and roll, he just automatically switches onto the guard? He almost never hedges and recovers. To me, this is less about Bjelly's ability to guard on the perimeter and more about putting our guard at a serious disadvantage in the low box. None of our other bigs do this unless they have to (or it's an explicit strategy, like against Steph Curry). That type of play burns us a lot.

They are obviously switching a lot and for Belly that's probably good he has just not been able to hedge right and too many times it just ends in a foul. It's been interesting the team looks like overall they have a plan and a clue of what they are trying to do defensively. There are a lot of possessions that a nice bunch of rotations happen. It's been pleasant to see.

Wiggins had a very good all around game. He had what 2 blocks some tough rebounds kept some plays alive threw a coulee nice passes and he scored and got to the line. The Suns vets Tucker and Chandler took it to the young guys last time and Wiggins and Towns trounced them both.

Can was saying in another thread he wanted Ronnie Price as a backup. That looks even better now. Lol I do think the Wolves need a vet PG that has played in the league some as a backup 3rd PG type. I'm rolling with Tyus getting a lot of the backup minutes though I think the guy can play and remember he was going against Price in this game who was making life tough for Rubio. I've actually been somewhat surprised at how Tyus has been able to do some positive things on defense making plays off his man and getting up on guys. He doesn't have physical advantages of some other young guys are their positions like Zach or Booker but he isn't a wuss either. This is the 2nd game I have seen him push Brandon Knight around at least once. Lol

I like how Zach has played so well but he also plays within himself a lot and picks his spots. It's pretty impressive.

Man that first half Bazz showed why he can be effective. I've found it interesting he is looking more for that midrange long 2 shot and while some of those make some people cringe because they are low efficient shots I like how it looks like he has worked on working to get to those spots and he is ready and willing to take jumpers. I feel there is a real chance (maybe the number isnt that high) that he can become a catch and shoot jump shooter that's effective enough to make him a nice supporting player as a scorer.
