Probably could have just made this a LaVine vs Wiggins thread, by the way. Towns is a no-brainer for everyone with a functioning brain. I couldn't imagine someone leaving Towns off their list.

You have to make that decision based on the information we all have now. That's the scenario some state we might be faced with when their rookie deals are up.

As far as Towns being a "no-brainer" - I'll let everyone else decide. He's certainly been good. But some have alluded to him being too weak and getting pushed around inside. Even you have advocated bringing in Boogie to take over Center. Maybe someone might think Towns could be traded for something that meets the board's Jeff Adrien threshold for "big body". IDK - everyone can answer for themselves..

Who said that?? I can't remember anyone saying that.

And I advocated bringing in Cousins because he's the best center in basketball and would make the Wolves an instant contender in my view, not because Towns isn't already a stud. Don't get that twisted. And if it does turn out that Towns should be moved to power forward for some reason (I doubt it), he'd still be a star player there. I highly doubt anyone isn't drinking all of the Towns kool-aid.

It was discussed and debated in another thread. You might be right that the discussion involved not being able to keep those three plus our lotto pick. But it doesn't really matter. As of this moment, we have that pick, plus our big 3. This was just a hypothetical question should we be force to chose which two to keep out of our Big 3.

Regarding Towns, again - I'll let everyone speak for themselves. We have three guys and I listed all three options. I try not to presume anything. Maybe someone makes an argument that this team's biggest need is a big body defensive center. I've certainly read a lot of that sort of talk on this board the last couple years. Or maybe someone thinks Towns is our most trade-able asset. IDK. I really saw no harm in listing all three available options so that we could read what people have to say.

I actually like lavine over wiggins right now. Lavine is much more aggressive, a better defender and in my opinion, a better shooter than wiggins. Also Lavines inprovement has been amazing. I am really impressed with how much he has inproved his game. I couldnt imagine thinking this last season. At the end of the day though we would be crazy to get rid of any of these guys.

Changing LaVine to full-time shooting guard was like taking the shackles off a world class sprinter.

I hear what you are saying on LaVine over Wiggins when you simply eyeball the two guys, but it's hard for me to agree with you, especially on the defensive side of the ball. When Wiggins is locked in, he can be a very good one-on-one defender and isn't as easily fooled by change-of-direction moves. Neither are very good team defenders.

The thing is though, it seems as though LaVine is locked in a lot more than Wigs. That's something you can't teach.

True. As someone else mentioned, it's nice that we can even have this debate!

Wolves can afford 3 junior max deals. It's when it get to senior max deals it gets very pricey.

Since this is hypothetical I went with Towns Lavine. That's more about how absolutely please I have been with how Lavine has played this year than a knock on Wiggins who I still like a lot and I am glad we really don't have to choose.

Last night was an absolute microcosm of why it can't be Lavine. KAT had a great game. Wiggins had a good game. An Lavine spent the 2nd half being a black hole because out of stupidity/envy. It didn't hurt the Wolves because they were playing a bad, unhealthy team. But when they run into a good healthy team, it will hurt.

You exist in a different realm than most of us.

I said :"Wiggins/LaVine" because someone had to do it.
