We really don't know what the relationship is between Milt and Sam beyond the obvious. It seems like they are on the same page with what their messag has been to the media generally speaking. Maybe they are basketball bros or maybe Milt is like Flip and doesn't think Sam is the right guy for the job even though he likes and respects him. The reality is unless someone has some sort of insider info we don't know what Milt thinks and even if he did how much can he completely honestly tell Taylor what he thinks in his position knowing Sam has a neat history with the franchise with Glen and with KG etc. lots of questions no answers.

I just read this article about when Milt was hired by Flip. It does seem Flip really gave and empowered Milt with a lot of responsibility In the organization.

Smitch has to stay, you cannot have a PBO/GM who's on a trial run hiring a Coach who'll more than likely outlast him. On the other hand this is Taylor we're talking about so anything is possible.

Newton's here for the next three or so years, if you read into the situation and what Taylor said today. You don't have a person make personnel moves and then fire them before the benefits or disaster effects show.

I'm actually willing to give milt a real shot at it. its Sam that I really want out after the season.

I hope glen gives milt the freedom to make the decision on the head coach and milt fire Sam as his first decision.

There's no chance this happens though since any high profile coach

a) may want Milt's job too

and

b) if conflict arises, will carry more clout than Newton.

The Newton /Mitchell ticket is here to stay

And there to me is the biggest problem, with Glenn keeping an unproven commodity it ensures that Glenn himself will still be far too active in the decision making. I just don't understand how he managed to be successful in business while being so completely averse to hiring the best qualified person for the PBO/GM job and then getting out of the way and letting them do their job. He did that with McHale, and maybe that's why he's gun shy about doing it again.

^^Winner Winner-Chicken Dinner^^^. You nailed it. Many problems with this franchise can be traced directly back to Glenn Taylor. He's been a brilliant businessman and has more money than any of us could every hope to see in our lifetimes. But (by all accounts I've read) he's also a control freak who cannot simply empower someone else to run his business. All reports I've read about possible sales of this Franchise have alluded to Glenn only willing to sell if the buyers will run things they way he wants them them run (contingencies). That's the equivalent of selling your house to someone only if they agree to not repaint or make changes without getting your approval. Good luck finding such a buyer! This guy needs to just back away already. The reality is we are looking at another year of Milt, Sam and the Country Club. Accept it. The only change might be KG will somehow be involved as another trusted adviser. Believe it.

Your example of a house sale is pretty far from what Glen has owning an NBA franchise. It's VERY common actually typical to have a bunch of people in ownership of a pro franchise I assume it's pretty uncommon to have 10+ parties owning a single family home. Lol

I feel like this type of thing has happened for longer than one season for other franchises but maybe I am remembering incorrectly.
