Who makes the final roster spot?

Four players each bringing vastly different things to the table, it is going to be interesting who makes the cut.

I went with Brown but I am biased I like him more and he is younger etc. there have been some things that make me think the Wolves are leaning that way including them saying today they may sense Tyus to the d-league some. Brown's game has some similaries to Andre so maybe he can learn from him. I won't hate it if Rudez gets the spot either.

I would put my money with Rudez. We only have 6 PF/Cs. One is unavailable until December and will have a minute limit even if he does return - Pek. And another that will miss some games and also have a minute limit - KG. Rudez has the guaranteed money, and has the size to pretend to be a PF, even if he can't rebound...

Brown is lost in a numbers game. While we technically only have two SGs - Martin and LaVine - we have all sort of players who can at least play the position - Miller, Wiggins and Bazz.

Rudez averaged 1.6 rebounds and .2 blocks per 36 minutes last season. Hell, Tyus Jones might be more of a big man than Rudez.

Good point Q. This brings up the fact that Brown is an above average shot blocker for a guard and averaged 2.4 rebounds and .2 blocks in 19 minutes which is pretty hilarious compared to Rudez. I'd rather see Bazz for sure and possibly even Wiggins and Prince playing PF than Rudez who played as a wing for the Pacers. Having Brown as a SG would allow that depth to be pushed down even more. I don't see Rudez being much more of a depth big than Prince.

Another fun angle is that Brown was recruited to college and played his freshman year at NC State mostly at SG for...Sidney Lowe.

Brown - Rubio is not 100%. Tyus might not be ready and there is already talk of D-League for him.

My concern with signing Brown is that it would give us three PG's who can't shoot. In saying that though Lo Brown probably has the highest ceiling in terms of becoming a better outside threat out of the three.

I see the Wolves keeping Rudez, although I don't agree with it he at least offers something - stretching the floor. As a 15th man you shouldn't really see the floor any how.

I miss Robbie Hummel.

Kiwi - That is why I was against Jones trade to begin with. I wanted some that was different then Rubio. I didn't want a game manager I wanted someone that could score and was more of an athlete. I will be curious to see if Joseph Young would have been the right pick.

After saying that I think Jones might have the best 3pt shot of the group in time. 38% in college and 89% from the line.

I liked the trade for Ty Jones and think he will develop into a solid backup PG. He is just a couple of seasons away from being that. Miller is an ok gate keeper I guess and will be great for Rubio to learn from, but man our PG's are going to be given some wide open looks this season. I'm getting flashbacks from the days of Telfair running the point......

One thing to keep in mind with Brown is he has been on 5 pro teams and 2 seasons (2 NBA and 3 d-league) with his longest stints on NBA teams. His 29 games last year with Wolves being the most games for any te since college. So he has pretty limited sample size and just for an example he took 28 3's last year and made only 6. I don't want to sound too positive on Brown because I am more hopeful on all his game than expecting him to be good/adequate or whatever (especially when it comes to outside shooting) but I do think it's a worthwhile thing to mention. He shot at least 30% from every year in college so it's not like it's hoping for a total miracle that he can hit say even 32% from 3 as a pro. So I am hopeful in that area but the people that are skeptical should because obviously he hasn't proven it for any length of time despite some success shooting that shot at a good rate in the D-league and SL. The sample size is even smaller there.
