Should be great fun for the fans, but very little to takeaway. I'd put way more stock in Summer League or FIBA play (not that too much stock should be put into those either mind you) than a promotional intra-squad scrimmage.

Not much. I can see a few spurts of intensity to start, but eventually they'll want to entertain the crowd. Nothing feels like "hope and change" more than a bunch of swished 3-pointers and Zach LaVine dunks.

Q and I are on opposite sides on this one. I'm not sure a team with Sam Mitchell coaching and KG glaring can play any other way than all out. And too many players are competing either for a starting role or a regular rotation role to not try to impress Sam tonight. Playing defense in a manner or intensity less than what Sam has been preaching the past week is a ticket to the bench. Veterans like Miller, Martin and Prince may take a casual approach to this game, but our young guys, KG, and Bjelica are going to go all out I think. I saw Tyus, Payne and Towns diving for balls in Vegas when they were playing with a bunch of D leaguers and in front of small, disinterested crowds. I have to believe they will show at least as much intensity in front of a local full house.

As I said before, if they reprise Dunks After Dark tonight, I'll be heading home at halftime.

AP guy just tweeted Ricky isn't playing tonight to keep him on track to play the opener.

I got here early to avoid the madhouse at the gate with the new system. Only guys on the court were pek shooting 100 free throws and NB shooting 1000 threes. I like jus work ethic and his form, but he only hit about 50% of them...not good enough. Now the only guy on the court is Andre miller working on his old man game. I swear everything is going in!

Too bad about Ricky. Buddies are arriving so I'm signing off...full report at 10.

Okay, the broadcast is NOT any sort of play by play...

But apparently some defense is being played!
