I selected Moss, but I need to explain myself since I don't really expect him to equal Moss. But of the receivers on the list, he does seem to resemble Moss the most. He's a big receiver with speed, like Moss, although not as big or as fast as Randy was. And like Moss, it appears that he will be an electric kickoff return guy. Moss had immediate success in the NFL, and the way the coaches are talking about Patterson, I expect him to make contributions right away both as a WR and as a return man. He also comes with somewhat of a checkered past, but again, not to the same extent as Moss. In so many ways he seems to be a poor man's version of Moss, with a chance to be a real star. I'm high on him so far.

I didn't vote because I think he is most similar to Moss out of those but he will imo be carving out his own piece of the NFL landscape. I think he actually has a lot of similarity to Moss but has bits of some others, and if he becomes a good route runner and stays focused the sky is the limit.

If Patterson can get a QB who can consistantly get him the rock, or give him opportunities to catch the ball, then sky is the limit for me. I like the Moss comparison, but never liked Randy's inability to get the extra yard and settle for the sideline. I believe Jones is a great comparison, but its all up to if the Vikings can get a top 10 QB to pass it to him.

I don't know of any stories in particular about Patterson, slapnut, but there has always been noise surrounding him. He had to play junior college for a couple years instead of going to a D1 school, and dropped to the bottom of the first round despite having top 5 talent. Neither of these occurrences were because there were concerns about his athleticism or ability to catch the ball...it was the intangibles. He had the reputation of taking plays, or even quarters, off at Tennessee, resulting in some very inconsistent performances. And at the combine interviews, he was described as being immature and not very intelligent. None of this concerns me too much; in fact, the negative buzz around him is the main reason he was available to the Vikings. Just like Moss, and Harvin for that matter.
