AB is going home--he's a Raptor

Anthony Bennett will sign with the Toronto Raptors, according to ESPN's Jeff Goodman.

I thought he was headed to Portland so a bit of a surprise, but I wish him well.

After looking at the Raptors salaries they don't exactly have a long term PF there and they can open up a roster spot by letting go in guaranteed roster spots. It makes a lot of sense plus he gets to go home. I wonder what kind of deal he gets.

It looks like the Raps are over the Cap and have no exceptions left so a vet min deal is the most he can get. If that is where he ends up.

Good for him. This waiver process allows him to get out from that 1st round pick salary baggage. He's just another journeyman guy now - trying to make a team. I suspect he'll stick there this year and probably will be very happy to be "just a rotational guy" now that most of the higher expectations for him have sort of fallen off.

I like this move for AB. I like him and wish he could have been a rotation guy here. Toronto looks like a good place for him to carve a niche for himself as a nba player. They just lost their starting pf last year in amir johnson and they have been talking about going small with Caroll at pf. AB looks like a fit with the direction they are taking.

I dont think AB will ever live up to being a number 1 pick but he can have a solid nba career as a rotation guy.

Good move for him. It was a risky move to take the buyout and I hope it works out for him. Raptors are a great fit. I like that that have a Scola there. He would be a good player to practice against and watch. I hope it works out.

Good move by the Raptors. I still contend AB was the better choice than Payne to keep on the roster, but I hope I'm wrong. If Flip thinks Payne will be Big Dancing Bear part 2 (draymond green), then he's sorely mistaken.

Looks familiar. Dude is being given a third chance....I hope he makes the most of it because it might be his last one.
