I hope he takes the SG job and runs with it.

Good article...JZ tweeted that Zach was the most impressive player in practice yesterday.
A lot of interesting things in AP Guy Jonny K's twitter feed too about the SG position. He says Mitchell gave every indication that Zach starting at SG is a priority, and that he is going to give him every opportunity. He also said Martin's tone was much softer yesterday on the subject of being 6th man. Everything I am hearing is telling me that Zach is in the driver's seat at the 2, and having a better 2-way option there is going to help a lot. Not to mention that KMart is a terrific scoring option coming off the bench, and had his most efficient shooting season of his career when he was 6th man at OkC.
If I had to predict the starting lineup today, I would go with Deing, KG, Wig, Zach and Ricky. I like that lineup, but after a couple years of suffering through painful second units, I'm even more excited about a bench of Towns, Bjelica, Bazz, Martin and Miller.

The Timberwolves actually making sense? What a refreshing change. Here's the 5 I think you will see start:
9-8-22-21-32

Of course I had to look them up because I only knew 21, but your 5 would be my second guess. I went with Gorgui because I think KG convinces his buddy Sam that Towns isn't quite ready to go up against the top NBA centers, and would be better served learning the game with consistent minutes against back up centers. But if Karl really steps up and proves to be a better center right away than 3rd-year Gorgui, that will be a really good thing for the Wolves.

No. 1 overall picks that are worth anything start. It might as well be in their contracts.

Cam - I agree you start Towns if he is not completely lost. He will learn more playing next to KG then coming off the bench.

Re: Zach Attack
Towns has to start. KG is the best guy for him to play with and we shouldn't have two rookies as our bigs off the bench in Towns and NB.

I think we all saw that Gorgui isn't ready to go against top NBA centers either. Karl-Anthony will start, and I'm pretty sure Flip already stated that, or at least hinted it, a little while back. Flip may never be the head coach ever again, but Mitchell is going to put Towns next to Garnett on the floor as much as he can, and that includes the starting lineup.

Well, Flip is in hospital with more important stuff. And Sam looks like he wants to be his own man. So I doubt what Flip said a month ago will really matter.
