There's no question things have changed dramatically since the team announced his diagnosis in August, back when it quoted his doctors saying the cancer was very treatable and curable. I can't see Glen Taylor allowing Milt Newton and Sam to make a major decision until they know more about Flip's future and Glen decides who will run his team for the long term. I wouldn't assume it'll be Milt and Sam going forward, that's just for the short term until things become clearer.

IDK. I've re-read this several times. Each time I read it, I sort of get angry. I feel like Zgoda is sort of talking out of his butt and unnecessarily creating anxiety. I've bolded statements in his quote above which are simply his opinion vs. actual facts. You'll notice - the majority of it is bolded i.e. his opinion vs. actual hard facts based on verifying sources. Now of course he could be correct on all counts. But still, it's not as if most of what he wrote was verified. It's simply his opinion.
I hope Jerry is just a lazy ding dong who has incorrect info. I'm holding out for official news/announcements on Flip's battle vs. this "second hand" gossip and speculation.
I agree with what you are saying I think there is a lot of speculation here from Jerry (Lip and I have commented on some of his speculation already) and as I think a lot of us know he isn't particularly reliable. I do think he knows some things he is a bumbling guy but there are absolutely things to take away from him at times. I do think his second hand sources are probably worthwhile to consider. Flip probably isn't doing great at this point but that's probably not news right? I am not a cancer expert but him being in the hospital for a couple weeks or however long it's does not seem good. No contact from your work place (I know this isn't a typical job but still) that adds up to him not doing good. Is it life threatening? It's cancer so yeah but what are the percentages now? Not as good as before I think that's obvious but maybe it's not that Dire. We don't have the facts so we don't know how much to legitimately be worried about Flip but there seems to be enough info and lack of info to make me have a decent chunk of concern about him beating it. I don't have enough info to panic but yeah I am worried in the odd way I am as a fan.
