I thought Dieng played a fantastic 4th quarter. He was really active offensively and displayed a wide array of moves. Got to the line several times, hit a 3, and played within the offense. On defense, he controlled the paint well and showed hard on pick and rolls. James Johnson was a tough cover for him defensively, but he made them pay on the glass and on offense. Him and Towns had a great night.

Yes, he was part of that 4th quarter unit that brought the team back and closed the game out. I think playing for his national team as their go-to guy has really helped advance his offensive game. He actually made a pump fake/dribble drive without traveling!

His defense was a mixed bag tonight. He did his typical move of opening up his body on guard dribble drive penetration and was too late on the shot block, giving up layups instead. Delon Wright got by him in this manner for layups on numerous occasions. And yeah, he could not stay with James Johnson.

Dieng is putting up some decent numbers following his impressive national team showing. I like what I've seen so far from him. Ricky, Wiggins, Belly, Towns and Dieng is the lineup I want to see.

Uhhh... So, are we going to ignore that Dieng played like shit in the first half? I'm cool with giving him credit for his second half offensively. He even had three straight buckets for the Wolves (dunk, jumper, dunk). He also made some big free throws at the end. BUT... In the first half, he blew several layups, including a pretty drop-off pass from LaVine. He couldn't handle an easy post feed either and allowed it allowed the Raps to get a transition bucket. Dieng also didn't know how to pass out of double teams tonight, which is odd considering he's usually a decent facilitator. Oh, and there's the thing where he opens his hips while guards drive on him and tries to smack the shot off the glass. It's not a good tactic, but apparently nobody's told him that yet.

It was a weird night for him. Some good stuff, but a lot of "what the fuck are you doing."

Bjelica, Prince, Jones and Towns played pretty well I thought.

Towns really needs to make a better effort to stay on his feet on closeouts and not fall for pump fakes. When Jonas pump fakes 18-feet out, you should look at him like he's a jackass, not jump up for a shot block attempt. Hell learn, thoug has.

Cam, Dieng has been playing great ball this offseason, no need to nitpick. He's is in our top 3 this offseason along with Towns and Belly. If you want to criticize guys, look no further than Lavine and Bazz who have sucked and deserve to be bashed.

Dieng was good last night. I still wish he was better defensively, but he plays REALLY well with Tyus, offensively he's definitely a better option than almost all of our wings right now, and he has had stretches where he protects the rim a bit. Guy's a good player.

I would think it would be pretty easy to play with Tyus on the offensive end, he just gets it. I think you will see good synergy between Tyus and all of our bigs before too long.

Dieng is never going to be that great all around player, but he's already showing he can be a better than solid short rotation contributor. If they ever get him coached up on the defensive end the idea of Towns and Dieng at the 4 and 5 could be very very troublesome for opponents!

Towns has issues defensively but OMG if he can hit 3's suddenly he becomes a dynamite bench guy at worst.

Zgoda post a video of Mitchell after the game and he said something like the thing that bothers him the most is when guys pass up open shots he wants them to fire them up. He said Dieng works on the 3 and always says he can hit them and Sam said that corner 3 if he is open and has his feet set I'll allow him to shoot that shot.

Bjelica is gonna be a nice player. He is smart enough on defense and man his shot looks sweet right now.

KG's defense in the first quarter was a masterpiece. It's no surprise those defensive metrics from last season had him rated so highly.

Lavine really struggled at times especially some pot passes but they were the right decision they wee not on target. Mitchell said after the game he needs to relax and play the game like he is 20. Basically I think Zach is trying so damn hard he is screwing up. He made some plays though late which was good for him and the team.

I know Tyus was going up against easier guys tonight but he was really putting forth more on defense getting into Wright and was better about getting through screens. He shows some instincts coming off his guy and disrupting things. I used to play with a really good PG that was so good at that and I see a little of him in Tyus. Tyus just looks like he has already made a significant jump in knowing what he needs to do and has offensive game no doubt. In this game I thought he seemed more like he knew what to do defensively and was better. It's preseason but he has been impressive.

Miller good grief that guy knows how to play ball.

Towns good

If you watched this game you see Rudez has some skill.

Prince likes those corner 3's. I know last year he hit some really high number from there so it's probably not a fluke.

Brown could help this team defensively against guards (partly because other guys have limitations) but after watching him this preseason I'll take Rudez no doubt.

Bennett looked pretty good even if his shots didn't fall he looked good doing his thing which is what he was doing for team Canada. There is some buyout remorse from be to be honest but his contract situation would have made things tough for it to work out in MN and I think it was the best think for him to have it work out like it did. I am just going to be happy for the guy of his career works out well.

Q I thought you would be happy with Wiggins he had a number of moments where he made his own points on cuts ran the floor got rebounds and he made plays for other guys. I thought it was a nice ALL AROUND game from him

Yeah, I think so too. It's just been very noticeable with Dieng though right off the bat.
