Once again with S. Mitchell... the accuracy is lost during translation.

"We have made tremendous strides in shooting more 3s."

The team is taking 15.3 per game compared to 14.9 last season. They're making fewer of them though...

It's no wonder why some guys don't understand why they are fired. They're fucking delusional about what they've actually accomplished.

Abe stop it with your fact checking... Joking of course

Like I said in another thread I thought this was generally a good sit down with Sam and it makes me hope he is doing enough of the right things for this year that the next guy doesn't have to start at square one. Also at least Sam seemed a lot more likeable in this spot.

I have a lot fewer problems with Mitchell as coach this season than most do here. I think his approach could be good for super young players in giving them the foundation to be professional basketball players.

The game stuff sucks balls. But this season was never really about wins and losses anyway.

Now, if Mitchell is retained past this season... then we have a problem.

Agree. We may never know what the true impact of Mitchell and the "Three Musketeers" of mentoring (KG, Miller, and Prince) have on these young guys since the seeds planted and lessons learned may not bear fruit until ensuing seasons.

We'll see how they progress. If they are miserable again next year under a different coach, Mitchell deserves some of the blame. If they take another strong step toward improvement, Mitchell deserves some of the credit.

So, if the same players that Mitchell used wrongly actually improve under another coach's watch because he's putting them in better situations to succeed... How the fuck does Mitchell deserve any credit for that?

He planted the seed Cam. He loved and nurtured these young saplings.

Growth comes in many ways, including doing things one isn't normally comfortable with. That may not be ideal for the team (or player for that matter) in the short term, but you have to leave open the possibility that may be, just may be, it helps the person develop into a more complete basketball player over the long run.
