Draft Position
Looks like we are sitting 5th. 3 games out of 6th. If we start winning we might end up drafting 8th or 9th. Any danger of losing the pick?

Of losing pick no. We would have to finish 10th and the 3 better teams have to get top 3 pick for us to not get it. We are fine in that regard. I would rather have this core learn to win instead of taking though
Re: Draft Position
I think it was top12 protected. So we could potentially lose it only in case we will get 10th worst record and then all three teams winning the lottery would have to be better than us. New York is currently 10th worst team and they have record 23-32 and Wolves have record 17-37. So even if New York has started tanking (they fired Fisher and ex-Wolves coach legend Rambis is intermediate coach) and they would finish the season with something like 5-22, Wolves should finish 11-17 to get same record. They would need to pass also Milwaukee, New Orleans, Denver and Sacramento (all teams with pretty similar record than New York) before they would have change to lose that pick. I think that the probability of that happening is less than 1% and even if they would finish with 10th worst record the probability that they would end up with 13th pick is less than 0.1%. So I think we won't need to worry that we will lose our pick even if we continue winning.:)

If we played 500 ball the rest of the year would we lose the pick? We would end up 31-51. If we keep playing like the last 4 I could see that happening. I am guessing we win 10 more games the rest of the way and end up 27-55.
Re: Draft Position
Even if Wolves would win half of their remaining games, it is not probable that they would end up with 10th worst record. Currently all teams above Wolves are on pace of winning at least 32 games. Some of the teams might start tanking and end up with clearly worse record than their current pace would indicate but I think it is extremely unprobable that New York, Milwaukee, New Orleans, Denver, Sacramento and still two more team (probably Orlando and Washington) would end up with worse record than Wolves. If Wolves would end up with 12th worst record then they would have 4% change of losing pick. Even with 11th or 10th worst record, it is almost impossible to lose that pick.

It will be interesting. There is always a pick in the top 20 that was underrated. I hope this is the year we pick the right guy.

Re: Draft Position
The odds of getting jumped by anyone past 10 are so low that we just need to finish 12th and we will highly likely keep our pick.
