I'd do Martin and Bazz for Holiday. Depends on how married they are to Holiday and what they thought about Bazz. Martin could be insurance for Gordon leaving via FA.

1st Bazz trade I like. Fills a specific need for us.

Why would New Orleans do that?

Holiday has been playing pretty damn well (18/7 over the past couple of months)... more importantly, he's suddenly about the only legit guard they have. Gordon is out injured. And Evans is done for the year. But you're suggesting they run with a Norris Cole, Shabazz Muhammad, Toney Douglas and Kevin Martin backcourt to finish the season?

I'm not so sure Anthony Davis would be please with the new direction for the club...

I don't think Houston would consider it, but if so sure. I'd take KJ McDaniels in a heartbeat too. I'm sure they'd rather trade an older guy like Corey Brewer, Jason Terry, Marcus Thornton, Josh Smith or Ty Lawson instead.

I agree Abe. We have got to be realistic here guys! Our garbage martin and payne are not going to get us any starting caliber or regular rotation guys.

You can pair them with bazz all you want but teams aren't going to bite. Bazz has value no doubt. But bazz's value is not strong enough to carry martin and paynes's negative value and get us a starter in return, much more a former all star who is only 24-25 in holiday!

The trade speculation is fun. But I see no reason for the Wolves to make a deal. We're not going to make the playoffs. If anything, we benefit more from losing than winning at this point in the season. Trades at the deadline are for playoff teams attempting to acquire a player who moves them up in the standings or teams just starting to rebuild by offloading expensive vets in return for young talent and draft picks to jump start their rebuilding process. We are a rebuilding team that already has a great young (25 and under) core of talented high upside players on reasonable contracts who look like they're just beginning to gel. They need time to develop individually and collectively. For heaven's sake, LET THEM DEVELOP!.

The worst thing we could do now is trade any of them for a player over 25 with less upside, especially one who would take minutes away from any of our remaining young core. Trading any of them now would be especially problematic since we haven't had the chance to see these young guys perform under a high caliber coaching staff. I don't think we've had the chance to see them at their best. Forcing LaVine into the PG role is a good example of failing to put these young guys in the best possible position to succeed. The inconsistent PT given Shabazz and others has also, in my view, stifled the development and ability of some of these young guys to play their best basketball.

If we can jettison Pek for net positive value that would be great, but it's not going to happen. And I'd be fine trading Martin and/or Payne for some net positive value. Unfortunately, the reality is that we won't get much for either or both of those guys. I'd shoot for a end-of-bench player on an expiring contract and a couple 2nd round picks or perhaps a late 1st round pick. Otherwise, I'm content to keep both and see if we can deal them this summer in some sort of package on draft day. And Martin may opt out after this season, in which case we'll have his cap money and won't have to worry about seeing him on the court for the Wolves next season. Payne's contract is cheap and he's not a disruptive force in the locker room as far as we know. So I don't see any urgent need to deal him.

Let's hire a new President of Basketball Operations and head coach this spring. Then the franchise can consider doing significant deals. The Wolves will have ample opportunity to do deals this summer, perhaps in conjunction with the draft, and next February. Provided we hire the right coaching staff, we should have a much better idea next January/February than we do now of what we have in each of our young players.

Lipoli that is bs. If Milt can't figure out away to get Stephen Curry without giving up anymore drafts picks, Towns, Wiggins, or LaVine we should fire him tomorrow.

I agree with Lip's analysis down the line. Most important, I agree that our number one task is a new POBO, who then decides on a head coach.
