Lopez and 'Melo outmuscled and outhustled our frontcourt all night. Simple as that.

While the players lost the game, tonight was the final straw for me with Sam. These last games should be treated as an opportunity for the Wolves to develop young players. This should mean starting Zach at the 2 and playing Tyus as the back up point guard. We did that last night and were competitive against a tough Memphis team in their gym. So why all of a sudden start Prince tonight, play Zach as the back up point guard (with Bazz and K-Mart at times which is absolutely ridiculous), and bench Tyus? It just makes no sense to me. This is the time for bigger picture thinking: what is best for the future of the team? But our team is being run by idiots.
I get starting Prince, otherwise you have to put Wiggins on him and 'Melo will take him to the woodshed. 'Melo was very quiet in that first quarter, but Lopez absolutely destroyed us. That's ROBIN Lopez! Ugh.
What I don't understand is why he had LaVine play PG. After the last few games with Andre Miller and then Tyus and LaVine doing fairly well shooting the ball, Mitchell suddenly decides to go back to him as our backup? That didn't cost us the game, but it was a curious move by Sam.

If I don't get out of here soon, I'll wind up being assimilated into the San Antonio collective!

I don't think so. He got hot and no one was going to slow him down much after that. Shabazz was a total mismatch, Wiggins not so much.

I'd prefer Wiggins guarding 'Melo over Shabazz, but I'd prefer Prince guarding 'Melo over Wiggins. Wiggins does not have the strength to keep 'Melo out of the paint or off the glass. Not that it mattered tonight anyway.

I could think of worse places to be in the middle of winter!
Sam is an easy scapegoat - and he certainly did himself no favors tonight - but this team came out flat and stayed that way. Defense continues to be a major problem for this squad. Thibs can't get here soon enough!
