I think everyone recognizes that he does other things well, who has denied it? But it is a stark contrast that shouldn't be diminished when a ball dominant player is zero threat to score when it counts.  Name me 1 great offense in the history of the NBA that had a primary ball handler who as weak at scoring as Rubio? It matters for team play and is a big part of our offensive ineptitude, we will never have a great offense if Rubio cant fix his shot.
 
Defense wins championships.  Ricky is an elite defender.  But Ricky doesn't hurt the offense, because he is a great passer and free throw shooter.  He is ranked 13th in OFFENSIVE Real Plus Minus:
