Re: ITS COMING
Thanks for posting, Duke. I came to the same conclusion as the author when I first read reports that Dunn didn't want to go to Phoenix or Boston...that he wants to start right away, and sees Ricky as a player he can beat out. But some others here corrected me and provided a more logical explanation...that Dunn wants to go to a team that isn't set at both starting PG and backup PG, and that's not boston or Phoenix. I don't think Dunn is saying he needs to start, I think he just wants to go to a team where he will get regular minutes.
Re: ITS COMING
I didn't mean to sound condescending with the thread title, like I told you so. But with all due respect it sounds like there is some mutual courting by both Tibs and Dunn and his representatives. If we draft Dunn it's to be our starter in my opinion, and not in 2-3 years. It wouldn't sit well with Ricky. If we draft Dunn, it's not out of the question Ricky is on the block. In that scenario we would sign a very competent vet PG.

Re: ITS COMING
Ricky could be traded this offseason. We've discussed it before, if we get Dunn we would probably discuss it again. Wouldn't shock me at all.
Re: ITS COMING
I am sticking with Jim Pete's view in the interview I listened to thanks to this board. Ricky is a winner, and he and Thibs will get along great.

Re: ITS COMING
While I like Dunn and actually hope we draft him, I find it laughable that Thibs would consider handing the keys to him on day one. We're trying to get into the playoffs next season, not take a step backwards.
Re: ITS COMING
I know I am biased but I don't see and real evidence that Thibs and the Wolves are all in on Dunn or ready to move on from Rubio. My favorite part of the "evidence"
Thibs like some but not all of Rubio's game.
Duh NOBODY likes all of his game. Thibs hasn't really gushed about anyone on this team except it's the best young roster in the league. Oh well I guess this is Rubio's lot in the league. Always the guy that's getting traded or whatever with often very little or no evidence that it's going to happen.

Ha, agreed Monster. Although he's said he thinks we have the best young roster in the NBA, when he talks about individual players, he doesn't really gush about guys the way Flip could sometimes. He keeps the hyperbole to a minimum and generally keeps things level.
These off seasons are too damn long!
Re: ITS COMING
Its not going to happen, we might draft Dunn but he is not starting from day 1 and if he is well should I start the 2017 lottery page because we would be back their next year. That is no diss to Dunn, it is so rare that a rookie PG comes in and is close to average at the NBA level.

Maybe. I think a lot of depends on what Thibodeau wants out of his PG.
He won with a Rubio-like guy in Boston (as an asst. coach). And he won with a dominant scorer at the Point in Chicago. I couldn't tell you which one he preferred. But I think we'll find out sooner than later...
