Re: The Playoffs
To paraphrase Herb Brooks, "The [player development] feeds the wolf."
I don't think anyone here would be complaining about the first round, or even the playoffs in general, being too long if teams from top to bottom were more evenly matched and players more skilled. Player development in the long-term is what creates that type of league. I won't interject too many hockey comparisons, but if you look at the way the NHL is constituted today, you'll see the type of league playoff the NBA should want to emulate. Yet, I do recognize hockey and soccer are significantly different from the NBA in the sense they are true team sports. It is required to be competitive and their developmental models support that. I do get the sense the US is moving toward a more unified model, but it probably won't happen overnight and might even require another huge debacle in the world sporting arena.

The one thing that the 7-game format does help...
The best team is winning it more often. It's harder to fluke your way over 7-game series for too long.

Wish we had Mozgov. I like him more and more. Got a little swagger and moves pretty well for his size.

Why is Rondo always mentioned as a big time free agent?

Re: The Playoffs
he is a big "name" FA, but is quickly showing that he might not be a big time "player" anymore.

I would pass on him. He has had more talent than anybody the last few years and not much to show for it.

Man, that guy went from stud to dud overnight. Wouldn't touch him with a ten foot pole. His attitude used to be tolerable, now he's a team-killer. Dallas was so good before they picked him up this year. Be careful what you wish for . . .

I haven't paid attention as much the last couple years but it seems like Brooks has gotten out coached in the playoffs. I'd be happy to see a Wolves coach get out coached in the playoffs. It doesn't sound like he will be unemployed very long. I'm curious who OKC gets.

I wouldn't bring him here on the veteran minimum to backup for us. His talent is overrated and his attitude is terrible. Any player who quits on his team in the playoffs is a guy I want no part of.
