Could we see a Hollinger/Morey match up? The all nerd series! Which analytics will win out.

Maybe. That's if Memphis gets by GSW. While the Randolph and Gasol tandem makes Memphis one of the few teams who can cause GSW's smaller lineups with D.Green problems, I don't see that team beating the Warriors.

If Draymond can handle Anthony Davis he can handle ZBo. Davis beat Draymond on mid range shots because of his length and his athleticism with lobs and alley oops. Randolph is only 2 inches taller than Draymond, which makes me think it's a far better matchup for Green. Golden State's defense is by far better when Bogut is on the floor and around the rim. However NO went with Davis and Anderson to space the floor effectively taking him out of the game. That won't happen this series.

Yeah you're right Abe. GS isn't a proven playoff winner yet. I could see it going 7.
And I wonder if Green's (aka the big dancing bear) performance this year pushed flip to get Payne. Thinking he could turn Payne into Green.

I think it was Green saying Payne would be good that made Flip do it.

Re: The Playoffs
Green being able to guard Davis doesn't mean he can handle playoff ZBo. Two different play styles. I'm not saying Green won't do a good job or not, but those two have no relation to each other. Davis, at this point, is perimeter-oriented. ZBo wants to put his head down and bully all the way to the rim.

I didn't watch a ton of the GSW series... because it was a no-brainer series. But Green was covering Davis and not Bogut?
For the record, Davis did well:
32 ppg
54% fg

ZBo averaged 13.5 points and 6.5 rebounds in two games against the Dubs this year. Not saying he can't turn it up for the playoffs but I think Golden State needs to worry more where scoring is going to come from if Conley and Allen can shut down Curry and Thompson.
Draymond Green was deserving of the Defensive Player of the Year Award. He can guard 5 positions. And yes he did guard Davis and Davis did have great numbers in the series. but down the stretch of games he went cold. This could be because of the minutes Davis played, inexperience, or Draymond locking down on him.

I'm a big fan of Draymond Green. But who was Bogut guarding... or did GSW just play super small (which they do at times).

Well, in the case of Barea, it was (1) shooting problems from the starting PG but even more (2) Adelman's odd use of the two very different PGs.
I think that was part of it. It seemed like Adelman wanted JJ to take over games (or at least gave him the latitude to do so). As we saw, JJ can win you a few games by taking over. But he'll lose you about the same too - so it seemed like a net zero when he was here (or worse depending on how much of a JJ fan you were). JJ seems best in small doses - same as Brewer. Some guys can really find a role with that though on the right squad.
