I think he would be fine with it honestly. A lot like his Gold Medal.

With his ego it would absolutely eat away at him. To know that the only ring he won in his career (hopefully) came from a year in which he could neither fit in, nor "fit out" with the rest of his team, to know his back up was far more effective as a cog in the wheel, and to know he never played after the first round of the playoffs. Combine all that with the very real likelihood that he'll be remembered as much for what he accomplished as a player as he will be for having been the player traded for a future all time great in Wiggins.

Seriously, think ten years down the line when the water cooler talk about all time great NBA PFs goes something like this when Love's name comes up: "Yeah, he put up great numbers on bad teams, was never the man that put his team over the top, won a ring but didn't really contribute much all season long and almost not at all in the playoffs, and was traded for a group of players, one of which proved to be the best player in the trade and it's not even close. Love was a great individual talent in a team sport, never a great cog in a contending teams wheel!"

Yes, his arrogance will likely delude him into thinking none of that was his fault, but it won't change the fact that he'd be an afterthought when talking about the greats!

Aren't most NBA and NFL players wildly arrogant? I get that with Love it comes across as disingenuous many times. But NBA egos know few bounds.

I don't know if Love is leading the pack or not... I do know, however, he's very very likely not alone. At least he's well versed, which is part of the reason for the stuff appearing to be disingenuous.

I'm not saying his ego bothers me, only that should he never win a ring, or even worse, he only "wins" one this season in which he was shown to be unneeded and didn't even play outside of the first round his ego will eat away at him IMO. It is sad that this brings me joy, but he is so petulant that I just cannot help myself! :)

I honestly can't see how the Cavs win this series. They are having their cake and eating it to when talking about Kyrie being back and the great defense they have been playing this post season. Kyrie at 100% can't play D and I don't think he's fully healthy so he is getting torched. The question is just by whom. There's no way to hide him. Steph will light him up. Klay will run him through a billion screens and then light him up. Barnes and Draymond can both post him up. Meanwhile Lebron is either chasing Curry or Klay around screens which is going to be tough for him to do defensively for a majority of games and still be an offensive force. There are no defensive breaks against this Warriors team to have guys save some for the offensive side of the ball.

Meanwhile the Warriors can put 4 different guys on Lebron and if Kyrie isn't 100% Klay might be able to borderline shut him down. GS has more depth, a better and more versatile offense and more quality bodies that they can throw at your best guys to slow them down. The only thing that can save the Cavs at this point is if GS hits a shooting slump or Delly gets one Warrior ejected per game with his antics. Lebron is great, but he's not going to be able to take down the best team in the league the same way he did the Hawks, Bulls and Celtics. I'm calling a gentlemen's sweep for the Warriors (5 games).

My basketball mind tells me Warriors in 5.

But it's the NBA... with an all-time great's legacy in the making at stake. So, I wouldn't be surprised with whatever happens.

I am curious how healthy Irving will be. If he is not healthy he should sit until the Warriors are up 2 games. That would be my approach.

Do the Cavs ever go with a lineup of Shumpert, JR Smith, Lebron, Thompson, Mozgov?

I would think that lineup would be pretty good defensively. It is to bad the Cavs depth is so bad. They just have to many guys that can't play many minutes at this point. Think how much better this team with be with Wiggins right now.

The Cavs role players have stepped up will that continue? If it does the series could be interesting. If not GS will likely win easily. I know GS hasn't been there either but their guys are legit starters in this league. Iggy is a legit above average starting wing and he comes off the bench. He will give you at least good defense compared to JR smith who you don't know what you are going to get. I'm cheering for GS in this one but I won't complain about a terrific series that goes 6-7 games.

I want the Warriors to win, and even moreso now that I got skin in the game via Bovada.

The Warriors are the better overall team. The Cavs are a much better team after the mid-season acquisitions including Mozgov and JR Smith....but I still don't think it's enough. I've got Warriors in 6...and it might not even be that tough if Kyrie doesn't return to form.

If Kyrie is as bad at defense as some people say are they better off with Delly instead? Just joking sort of but kinda spinning it off like the Love TT questions. :)
