The Lakers can sight him outright. They don't need to give up Randle.

Exactly. The Lakers have the cap space and don't need to give up any assets. I don't know that Randle and Love fit well together, but I still think the Lakers are the best bet to be Kevin's 2015-6 team, Which team he goes to the following year is anybody's guess.

Hey LST can you give a detailed account of why you dislike Love so much? I enjoy listening to you vent about him lol

If Love wants a 5th year guaranteed he'd need a sign and trade so Love for Randle is possible.

Sure they can sign him straight up, but like mentioned Randle and Love aren't exactly chocolate and peanut butter. If they do a sign and trade they can ship out some salary giving them room to make another significant addition to their team.

I don't fully understand how cap restrictions work but wouldn't the Cavs have to get an equal amount of salary cap in return if they S&T Love?

I'm pretty sure you can eat salary up to the cap and the matching is only if the deal takes you over the cap.

I have serious abandonment issues stemming from my childhood, and Love triggered them when he deserted me...um, deserted the Wolves. Other than that, I think he's a stellar guy.

Wow, Cleveland just rolling over Atlanta. I have to admit I'm pretty surprised at the ease with which they have dispensed of them. A few thoughts....

- LeBron James is still the best player in basketball.

- They missed Love less than I thought. Even if they don't win the FInals, I have to believe he's a goner, as many here have projected. I just hope he somehow stays East and goes to Boston or Washington. But alas, I suspect he's headed for the Lakers.

- I'm convinced that the addition of Mozgov and especially Shumpert were the keys to their defensive turnaround, which started shortly after the acquisition of these guys in the regular season. The Cavs are playing some of the best defense in the playoffs and these two guys are big factors.

- Whoever comes out of the West, most likely Golden State, will have gone through the gauntlet. That being said, a huge part of their success is their relative health compared to their opponents. I mean, they have been very, very fortunate on the health front. Luck plays a huge part in making a championship run.

- Golden State vs. Cleveland. I think Golden State has more overall talent, but they will be going up against a battle tested LeBron James. I'm just not sure he can win it by himself against the firepower of the Warriors. He really needs a healthy Kyrie.

A completely dominating performance. 4-0 sweep with an average score of 106-93. During the regular season, with Kevin Love in the lineup for every game, Atlanta won 3 out of 4 with an average score of 109-106. Small sample size of only 8 games, but certainly a significant difference. It's telling to me that the Cavs offensive output was identical with and without Love, but they gave up 16 fewer points per game with Love out. I have said often that I think Love doesn't help the Cavs, but these results were even more dramatic than I would have predicted. In all 4 games the Cavs looked like a team, rather than a collection of individuals, and I didn't see that often during the regular season.

I agree that Love is gone...I just don't think the Cavs are going to offer him much now that they know how they play with a much cheaper TT at PF rather than Love. Personally, I hope that he goes to the Lakers. or some other Western conference team.
