Offseason....what if?
Cousins is always seemingly discussed. What would we think of following:
Wolves get: Cousins, Koufas, Casspi
Sacto gets: Wolves #1, Wiggins, Bjelica, Muhammad
What say ye?
Wolves:
C: Cousins / Koufas / Cheap FA
PF: Towns / Dieng / Cheap FA
SF: Casspi / ???
SG: Lavine / ???
PG: Rubio / Jones / ???
Lot's of FA decisions will depend on whether KG and Pek retire or are bought out.

I'm guessing Cousins' attitude will get this proposal denied by most on this forum.
He's a legit talent though... he just can't escape himself for whatever reason.

I think that's far too much to give up to essentially get Cousins. I don't know much about the other two guys, but based on their stats, they don't move the needle much. If you really wanted Cousins, I would think a top five pick in itself would be sufficient without giving up Wiggins and Bazz. Cousins is defective goods and should come at a discount - not a premium IMO. Yes, he's a good player. But similar to Randy Moss or Percy Harvin, you know what will happen eventually.
Re: Offseason....what if?
No to Cousins, not for Wiggins, not for free, the Wolves don't need his attitude around. Winning makes everything better, not perfect, and not for long. He's been in this league six years now, that leopard is not going to change his spots, he may appear to for a while, but at some point he's going to implode.
No, no, no, no, fuck no.

Love me some Cousins, but I wouldn't trade Wiggins AND our upcoming first rounder for him. I could get around a deal behind one or the other, but not both.

No. I think we have a good thing building. I don't think we need to add a potential malcontent. I think we need to stay the course, build the bench, and hope that our guys continue to develop.

Re: Offseason....what if?
The ONLY thing that would give me pause...
It's a copycat league. So small ball is here... until somebody gets ahead of the curve and swings the trend with talented guys who can offset it.
Other than Anthony Davis, is there another combination that would destroy small ball lineups and stay with them (somewhat) more than Cousins and Towns.
But yeah... taking a chance on a mercurial player like Cousins had its place for this franchise (THINK WES JOHNSON DRAFT)... now is not the time. The foundation is here. That doesn't mean I wouldn't consider moving Wiggins/LaVine eventually... but let's let it play out a bit first.

Love his abilities. But for me I have to like the players on my team, not just their abilities and Cousins is the kind of person I just cannot root for, even on my team. He's like Love in that way, I was impressed by the numbers Love put up, but was relieved when he was traded that I could finally root against him and not be rooting against my team at the same time.
I guess you could break it down like this, had the Vikings won the Super Bowl with Brett Favre at quarterback I would have celebrated the championship. But having a Green Bay legend lead the team to it's only championship, it would always have felt tainted deep down in my soul.

I understand that Love wasn't exactly lovable. But I never knew he was on the DeMarcus Cousins level.

For me, I just care about winning. I'd rather my team win with a group of assholes than lose with a bunch of nice guys. Either way, it doesn't reflect anything on me other than I'm a fan of the TEAM.
