Shabazz should get Alexi's minutes NOW
before I throw something through my TV screen
Re: Shabazz should get Alexi's minutes NOW
I disagree. Thats the worst thing we can do right now. He needs to play out of this funk. Benching him simply decreases his already low trade value. Alexey needs to get his confidence back.
Barea is the one whose minutes need to be reduced. He is playing just as bad as Shved and I feel Shved's game is serious inhibited by the fact Barea dribbles around aimlessly for 22 seconds before putting up a hell mary, or passing to someone for a contested shot.

I want to see more of Shved running the offense with Barea playing off ball or even when Barea's not in the game. Shved's better with the ball in his hands imo. Barea looks only for his shot most of the time.

First time poster, I absolutely disagree. Shabazz is far to raw is even think to put in the game. He needs a year in the D-league to develop into a 6 man combo scoring guard off the bench. Shved has been brutal this year however he did show in the 1st half of last yr he could take over a game for 5-6 min stretch, something Shabazz hasn't shown he can do. Shved just has lost all confidence in his play this year, you can tell by his body language. His jump shot is all screwed up, same can be said for D.Will. Shved needs the ball in his hand to be effective at the NBA lvl. He's been a scoring guard all his career internationally. He's a classic combo pg/sg to come off the bench and be asked to be a spark plug. Playing him with JJ is counterproductive. A confident Shved would not be any worse leading the 2nd unit than Barea. I still hold out hope on Shved, he's proven he can be an effective player in high level international play. He has the tools to be an effective 6-8 man rotation player off the bench.

I'm not sure either of these guys deserve NBA minutes right now.

Homesig...welcome to the board. Nice post. Interesting idea on letting Shved run the second team. I like the idea enough to hope that Adelman gives it a shot for atleast a couple games. I have a hard time seeing the Shved could be consistantly worse than JJ.

Did anyone else get the feeling that Alexi worked his way out of the rotation last game?
And given how well Brewer played SG, and how well Hummel played SF, what do you think is going to happen tomorrow in Denver? Will we see Hummel as the SF coming off the bench behind Brewer? And Barea getting a few minutes alongside Rubio would pretty much eliminate Alexi.
Great for Hummel. Sad for D-Will.

Hummel pretty much earned the backup SF spot I thought. Efficient shooting and Adelman already loves him. That's fine, though. I'm a Robbie fan.
D-Will and Shved are reportedly being shopped for a quality bench player. At this point, I don't care who we get as long as they can contribute. Courtney Lee, Caron Butler, C.J. Miles. Even these guys would be nice at this point.

As much as we would all like the see DWill succeed the fact that he is being upstaged by a 2nd round pick who is new to the system, coming off of two knee surgeries, and with a fraction of DWills athleticism is a sign that we should be moving on. Time to celebrate the fact that Hummel looks to be at least a functional rotation player and stop lamenting the Lion's caged confines.

I think Shved is better at PG or playing with Rubio. He doesn't fit with JJ at all. I don't think him or DWill have any value around the league. I think we would have had more value in DWill if we didn't sign him for next year.
