DWilliams/Shved for MWilliams/Hayward wouldn't have been bad, but SAC was the right trade partner. The Wolves just didn't do enough with it.

If D-Will and Shved was good enough to get Hayward, it would have happened. I think it's hilarious that you say "wouldn't have been bad". Getting Hayward would have been just about the best possible (impossible) move. I don't even know for sure if the Jazz would do D-Will for M.Williams honestly.

jason, I dont think theres a chance that trade happens. Hayward is the jazz's go to guy, they wont trade him + marvin for shved +dw. Thats a one sided deal for us. Dw+shved for m.williams might have a chance though.

Anyway, thats on the rear view mirror as flip has pulled the trigger on dw trade already.

Quick question everyone: If the Jazz just can't get enough of the ol' babyface, why did they not pick up his option for 14/15 on Halloween?

The reason I said it would be ok is because Marvin makes a Shitload of money, isn't going to be a reliable backup PF, and is not better than Brewer OR Buddinger. But I'm sure his parents love him.

Did you miss the two or three weeks where Utah and Hayward were close to getting an extension done? I think Hayward's a RFA anyways. Both parties want to stay.

Was never a Marvin guy and I've said that multiple times on here. In the trade you proposed, though, it was just really one-sided in the Wolves favor because of Hayward.

Hayward will make 10-12m next season. either the jazz or some other team will offer him that contract. He is a legit starter in this league. No way utah will trade him for dw+shved.

Marvin makes 7.5m this season and he is also an expiring contract. He is not a pf but a sf who can play some pf as well like mbah a moute. He may or may not be better than brewer or bud but he is definitely better than Dw, shved and mbah a moute currently.

If that trade pushes tru then that would be 1 sided for us. We will be 9 deep right now with the 2 + the starters +jj and dante and be 11 deep when bud and turiaf are healthy. Thats not a realistic trade for us.

Again, the trade is done. Mbah a moute is the guy we got. While I think he can contribute more than dw. It just upset me that we wasted a number 2 overall pick in derrick williams. For us to be a top caliber team, we have to get our picks right from here on. The spurs and okc as of late are teams that get their picks right even when they are picking in the 20's. We need to be like them to be successful.

My bad. BSPN made a big deal on Halloween about it, and I didn't read the article, so I thought it was them declining the 4th year. That being said, the reason the Jazz are 4-12 is Hayward is their best player, and he's not having THAT great of a year, so if the the deal he declined was anything close to 8 figures a year, he messed up.

So here is how my post should have looked:

No. No. No. Marvin Williams is barely worth $7.5m every two years, much less every year. He is not a reliable backup PF, and he is not better than Brewer OR Budinger. I would say DWilliams for MWilliams/First, but the Wolves really aren't in that place anymore and should be looking for immediate contributors.

I'd rather have Burke at this point than Bazz and Dieng. Would have made JJ expendable to get that last piece 3 and D wing we are missing like a Shumpert or Lee. Now the only guys we have left that are really worth trading are Bazz and Shved and neither of them are worth anything. Also, why hasn't Bazz been sent down yet? Are you not able to call guys back up once they are sent down? Otherwise it makes no sense having him ride the pine here when he could be playing in the minors.
