Stein Power rankings

Post by mjs34 »

Wolves have jumped to #3 after a preseason ranking of 12.

Don't expect them to stay there, but what a turnaround from the last couple of seasons.

Unbelievable...ranked third overall and a 2 seed in the West!

Now that I think about it, has anyone ever seen Marc Stein and Tim together at the same time????

Hmmmmmmmmmmm...

LOL But like Lip, Stein will drop us down the elevator shaft as soon as we hit a mini slump.

Power rankings this early in the season are fun, yet even more meaningless than they are late in the season.

The best this week, go back and read the preseason ranking for Philly and their win total possibilities. Then look at their record already. A lot of teams (particularly good ones) tend to struggle out of the gate. I think it has a lot to do with playing on national teams and playing a longer season due to PO's, so the players just aren't in top shape coming into camp.

Yeah, we need to be a little careful in reading too much into the first portion of the season. The NBA is a war of attrition. By the All-Star break, half of the rosters in the NBA will be ravaged by injuries and it will dash the hopes of many teams that would otherwise be playoff contenders. The ones that stay healthy will have two major benefits: 1) They will be a well oiled machine in terms of their on court chemistry, and 2) they will be playing weakened competition since half the teams will have major players out of action.

We need to hope and pray that we are on the right side of the coin this year.

Stein always loves teams with white stars. As long as we are somewhat competitive he will be our advocate.
