Would you trade Derrick Williams for ...?

Post by Lipoli390 »

Assume that the other team is willing and salaries fit the CBA match rules, which of the following would you trade Williams straight up for?

1. Evan Turner
2. Jeff Green
3. Trevor Ariza
4. Kidd-Gilchrist

IF Boston was willing, Jeff Green for sure. They value him a lot though. Would be tough to keep him and his high salary as well.

Kidd Gilchrist is extremely fast and explosive. Last night he had a chase down block against a pelicans player on a breakaway, that even in New Orleans had the crowd oohing...however, his offensive skill set is just that, offensive. Maybe he'd have a better opportunity in a spread offense in MN, but watching him, I don't think he would bring that much to the wolves.

All of them. Adelman said himself that Williams' best position is the 4 and we can't play him there.

Despite sjm's claim that the D-Will we saw the last game was the same D-Will we saw last year, I would keep D-Will if he continues to play like he did the last game!

But I would seriously consider trading D-Will for Turner if I thought we could re-sign him within our salary structure...

Turner and Green, but I don't think Philly or Boston would be interested I have written before that I'm just not sold on Williams...you cant coach or change "motor". There will be occasional "tease" games like OKC, but I don't think Williams can sustain it. Hope I'm wrong.

I also have never understood the MKG love. Unlike Derrick, he does seem to work hard all the time. But I just don't see the talent.

MKG. He's the youngest and cheapest with the most potential out of all of them. I think he plays the game like Gerald Wallace and can do a little bit of everything except shoot. He is an elite athlete with a strong work ethic and he is still on his rookie deal. I realize he is raw offensively, but his length and athleticism helped him post very solid shooting percentages near the rim (61.8% eFG% at and around the rim). That kind of percentage would seem to fit well with some of the cuts Adelman expects his wings to make towards the rim. I just think with a 4 who can stretch the floor, we can sacrifice a 3 not being able to stretch the floor as long as he can score at the rim and play solid defense. Also throw in the fact that he is only 20 and we are adding another player who can develop with our core.
