I agree with Doper. Williams' value, which isn't a ton, but is worth something, is his ability to produce offense and protect the defensive glass. Those are the two areas he's actually OK at. The second unit could use another scorer along with Barea, as the Turiaf/Cunningham/Shved trio are not known for being able to score in volume. Of course, we could always try to make sure that the Love/Martin/Pek trio are never out of the game at the same time, but I'm pretty sure Adelman wants to be careful in managing their minutes given the injury history.

Williams has to play minutes to determine value. Wether for this team or another. Rick may not wanna play him but I would bet the brass is leaning on him to do so.. Its shit or get off the pot time with this kid.

I still don't get this sentiment. And I feel like I'm beating a dead horse here. Williams HAS played minutes!!! He's played 3,334 to be exact over the course of two seasons. He's started in 71 games and come off the bench in 73 games! Yet some folks act like we don't know what we have yet. Yes we do! We have a slightly below average player that is good enough to be in a number of teams' 9-10 man rotations, including ours', but not good enough to be much of a difference maker. We'll find out if he can take his game up to another level, but let's not act like we have no idea what his current value is.

I agree with you , but it doesnt change the fact that he needs to be played to show value. If he's left to sit the bench than the organization is admitting the mistake in drafting him in the first place. ( we all know its true) But much like the Vikings with Ponder , organizations arent that easy to admit mistakes. Sitting him means their throwing away a number 2 overall pic.
Dont always assume someones disagreeing with you just cuz they bring up another point .
