Wouldn't surprise me at all. It's the type of move I have come to expect out of Adelman. He seems to prefer putting a less talented lineup on the floor rather than having to actually coach younger more talented players.
This is a myth. D-Will played the 4th most minutes on the squad as a rookie. Rubio eventually won the starting PG position as a rookie. Shved played the 6th most minutes on our squad last year as a rookie. Adelman will play younger players.
D-Will has played in over 3,000 NBA minutes in two seasons. I'm not sure where Adelman has gone wrong here.

Ricky was already a professional player, so he doesn't count. He literally requires no coaching from Adelman whatsoever. The only reason Shved and Williams played as much as they did is due to injuries.

I agree with q here. There are always critics that say adelman wont play rookies, but they refused to acknowledged that adelman has developed a lot of young players in his career.
Adelman started jason williams at pg in his rookie year. He played and developed peja, hedo and Kevin martin in sacramento. Aaron brooks, kyle lowry and chase budinger played and developed under adelman.
As q pointed out, rubio started in his rookie year, shved played good minutes until he hit the rookie wall. Pek blossomed in his 2nd season and first under adelman. Dw played minutes in his 2 seasons here.
Im just tired of this old 'adelman wont play young guys conspiracy' If bradley beal, victor oladipo, andre drummond, harisson barnes were on this team, they would get a lot of burn from adelman. Its about if you can play and play within the system for rick.

Agreed. Nothing to add on to this because you said everything.
Side note: Magic used a Nelson/Afflalo/Harkless/Maxiel/Vucevic starting unit tonight. I assume we'll see the same one tomorrow night. As a unit, it didn't look good at all. Offense struggled and their defense is average at best. They do have a decent bench, though. Dipo and Nicholson are keys to focus on within that unit. Always liked Nicholson and he showed he had various moves tonight. 18 points in the first half I think it was on 8/9 shooting.
Feeling good about our season opener!
Re: Timberwolves--Magic, Season Opener
While the Magic struggled at the start of each half, and the 4th quarter, I thought they played fairly well tonight. I'm not expecting a cake-walk tomorrow night.
On another side note: I'm glad we didn't trade for Afflalo!

Neither am I, but I do expect us to beat them by a pretty good margin. I don't see the Magic keeping up with us in scoring and our mediocre (that's what I'm calling it right now) defense won't be a weakness vs a pretty yucky Magic offense.
I'd still trade D-Will for Afflalo, though.

Gotta beat bad teams. Gotta win at home. The crowd and players are going to be jacked up tonight, so lets hope that translates to an early statement. But if the game is close, which honestly I won't be too surprised if it is, we just need to find a way to win.
Just win. TESTIFY.
