I`ve just seen that headline. The video isn`t available though.

Good news from Barea.

Although I don`t think that he is the perfect beckup PG behind Rubio, We need him at his best (sharp) for next season.

Let`s hope he will stay healthy in the beginning of next season.

Jj Barea would be a key part of the team this upcoming season. I see a lot of guys here writing him off, having shved play ahead of him as the backup pg and reducing his min to 12min a game. Thats not going to happen. He will be the main backup pg and will play with rubio in some stretches.

Barea works best as the lead guard off the bench. He is still the only guard on the roster who can create his own shot. He can be hot and cold but the good thing is, we have more offensive options that we wont have to rely too much on him to create for us like we have the last 2 seasons. This can only help barea and the team.

Very Good news from Barea, he led Puerto Rico with 30 points and 6 ast to a thrilling victory over Venezuela on Saturday night!

Puerto Rico clinched a spot in the FIBA Americas semifinals.

Puerto Rico and Barea lost to Mexicoin the finals of FIBA Americas.

Barea had another good game for Puerto Rico with 20 pt. (with nice percentage), 5 rebounds, 4 ast and 2 stl in 32 minutes.

Barea had a great tournament for Puerto Rico as starting PG.

Hope he will play like that for us next season when he will come from the bench. Although, I must say that I think Barea doesn`t fit to Adelman`s system, his style is more individual and fit better in games as international tournaments (Collections of players from all over the world).

How many minutes will he play for us next year? All of them as PG or SG as well?

Barea's value will come for us in the playoffs (if we make it). During the regular season it is all about managing his minutes and playing him during certain matchups and situations. For example if we are struggling to score, then Barea should come in and be given the 'Jason Terry/Jamal Crawford' role.

We don't have the depth we did last season at the PG position so Barea is a pretty important piece of the puzzle. If Rubio goes down injured (God forbid), then atleast we have sufficient cover in Barea and Shved. Personally if that happened I'd start Shved and let Barea come off the bench.
