What are realistic #'s for Rubio this coming season?
What are realistic #'s for Rubio this coming season?
With a better group of shooters out there, we should see better floor spacing.. With better spacing Rubio should be very surgical out there.
12 pts 10 assts 4 rebs 2 stls seems to be a fair expectation.

I agree with you numbers but I would like to see him around the 40% FG% and 33% 3PT%

10.5 ppg, 10 apg, 3.5 rbpg and 2.6 spg, shooting 40/34/85.

I could easily see that. I'd probably lean towards 12 PPG, 11 APG, 3-4 RPG and 2.5 SPG while shooting 40-43% and 33% from three. With better floor spacing, I think Rubio takes better shots and also has more lanes to drive in. His shot was also much, much improved the last stretch of last season. Don't forget this is his first true off-season with the Wolves. Rook year with the lockout, Soph year with the ACL injury. More assists with better shooters, better guys to run the break with (Brewer, Bud, Shabazz, K-Mart) and a healthy K-Love. If he has this type of season, boy would I be pissed if he didn't get the accolades to go along with a playoff berth.
Accolades: All-Star, Most Improved Player
Could also lead the NBA in assists and steals per game.
Just like Paul George broke out last year, 2013 is Ricky's year to shine.

Its tough to know how many shots Rubio will take, but I think he could end up scoring a little more than 12ppg. With more spacing he will have room to roam, but with more weapons he won't have to score either. The one thing that Rubio has that can make him put points on the board is he knows how to draw fouls anywhere on the court. With that ability to draw fouls and get easy points at the line I think he can grow his game putting the ball in the basket.

My prediction: 12.4 ppg 11.9 apg 2.5 spg 4.0 rpg
The only number that really improves that much from his career averages is the assists, due to actually having shooters around him. I also thinks he shoots higher than 35% from 3.
