But to the degree that either had a say in the draft, it's a little disingenuous (sp?) to just bring up Vesely without mentioning Wall, Beal and McGee at 18, the other recent picks that did work out. The Rubio-pick trade was a disaster for them, but in the context of an Arenas-led team ready to advance in the playoffs, it didn't start off terrible. I don't even mind the Okafor signing, but do agree that the Nene deal was awful. However, I should point out that so far, Javale's basketball IQ is no better than Beas or McCants.
Wall was an obvious pick and a given. I don't think any team would not draft wall when they had the first pick including us. Beal was a solid pick, they made the right pick out of the acceptable choices that were available at 3 last year. Il also give them seraphin as another solid pick. I'm not sold on porter and McGee ended up being nene which you said was and awful move. Ultimately, the veseley pick and Rubio trade was terrible for them in the long term and that's what should be noted. Veseley can't even crack the rotation and foye and miller left after 1 disappointing year in Washington. That's more bad than good for me.
