Possibly Abe, maybe the extension helped in the trade, knowing he woudn't bolt his new team this offseason? Sac might see value in him as a starter for 6 million?

It's a good trade because of the lineups it lets us put out on the court. We now have protection against small ball teams while being able to lock down the wings if we need to. He doesn't fix the second teams offensive woes, but he plays the kind of defense that will let the second unit not get scorched either. Bud is not going to be able to defend very well when he gets back, so this gives the bench unit an elite defender allowing us to hide Bud. At the end of the day, we just have to make the playoffs and be healthy then. It doesn't matter if we barely make it in or are the 4th seed. This dude lives for shutting down the Durants, Lebrons and Melo's of the world and he has the size and wingspan to do it unlike Corey. Defense is what wins in the playoffs and now we have 3 very good perimeter defenders that can slow anyone down over the course of a series which is what we need more than bench scoring in November. Plus, D Will wasn't playing and we save 2 million dollars that could go towards another player in the offseason if we still think we need one.

I think at some point Mbah a Moute's going to be in the first unit to actually be locked up with the opponent's best wing scorer. We get more value from him as a starter due to him being matched up with the LeBron/Durant/George/Melo type scorers right from the tip-off. Brewer back off the bench just like Flip and Adelman orignally envisioned. In this case, it actually does help the bench offense and defense. Rubio/Martin/MaM starting the game and Barea/Brewer/Bud (healthy) coming off the bench.

That's what I would try to do if I was Adelman. Mbah a Moute, in my opinion, is a perfect fit for the starting lineup, even more-so than Brewer due to his elite defensive presence and rebounding. He doesn't need shots to be effective on the court and he'll likely get garbage points off put-backs and fastbreaks (not at the same rate as Corey).

i think something similar, imho it all depends on who is best scorer in opponent team, i can imagine starting Ricky-Martin-Brewer with Brewer guarding SGs like Harden, or starting Ricky-Martin-MaM against KD or someone like that, definitely MaM is good addition for our team especially for possible playoff series, we are going to be much more dangerous then if we would traded DW for some spark plug SG who could work a little bit better in regular season maybe ..

This is how this trade should have looked:

Williams/DC/Shved/Shabazz/NOP 2nd/LAL 2nd ($12.234m) for LMaM/Outlaw/Fredette ($10.028m)

I like it, but then I've said I'd take a KitKat bar in return for the caged one.

I see MaM taking Brewer's spot among the starters. Then when we get Bud back the 2nd unit will have JJ/Brew/Bud/DC/Turiaf. Brew will be a better 2nd unit defender while still scoring his energy ponts, Bud brings some extra offensive punch. I think the entire team is better balanced like that. Yes we still lack anybody other than JJ who can create his own shot, such is life.

I wanted to swap Fredette and Shved too, but no way I'm putting two second rounders in there. Also, Outlaw sucks. No reason for us to trade our backup PF for another SF that can't shoot from the outside. Doesn't even make sense really.

Adendum: Since SAC has 15 players under contract, MIN has to take back 4 players. N'diaye works I guess.

Camden: Those seconds are going to be in the 43-to-50 range, and SAC would be taking on extra money. And don't look now, but Outlaw is actually playing well this year.

Wait Luc has a bum knee? This trade really is fitting all of our check marks for potential targets. Now hopefully he has domestic issues when he gets here and complains about the weather.
