Wolves trainer Koichi Sato

Post by longstrangetrip [enjin:6600564] »

Interesting article in the Star Trib this morning about the techniques of the trainer Flip brought with him from Washington. It mostly focuses on Pek, who credits Sato for keeping him on the court this year. Big things (ACLs, broken fingers, etc) are part of the game and are going to happen, but I was frustrated with all the time Pek, Kirilenko and others missed last season with little problems. Kudos to Flip for addressing the Wolves injury issues by bringing this guy in...certainly seems to have had a positive impact on reducing injuries.

Good bit there LST. I'm glad to hear we have a new trainer.

I think Sugarman could help them out quite a bit too.

Many of us give Flip a hard time around here, including myself. But he does deserve credit for this hire and whatever other changes he made to the medical/training staff. This team hasn't been this healthy in years. That's partially luck, but I have to believe this guy is helping out too.

I agree with Q. I'm generally not happy with Flip's tenure so far, but I have to give him credit for bringing in this trainer and the overall health of the team.
