Is Barea gone?

Post by thedoper »

Him and Love do seem to have had a bit of a public spat now (3 post game comments). I think something will happen.

J. Fredette & A. Miller seem to be available I'd be trying to get one of them in that order I'd even add a pair of 2nd round picks for Fredette (salary dump JJ would make us have to add a little something more.)

I think we will have to take back a longer term salary to dump JJ. I think we need a change.

I doubt anything like a trade happens because of this, but man, it's going to get ugly. This all stems back to last year with Love not being around the team. Then fast forward to this year with Love calling out the bench, JJ taking exception to those comments and now last night's comments from Love regarding JJ and Dante....There is a real disconnect right now and it's sad. Egos need to be dropped right now.

I wonder if we could deal Barea for Jarrett Jack. It would save the Cavs about $15M

He gone.

It's the easy choice for the front office. Something has to be done to end the disharmony in the locker room (Krawcynzski says they are "teetering on the brink right now"), and trading Love in a fire sale would be a public relations disaster. They can trade JJ without much impact on the fan base, and harmony will be restored again...at least until next week when Love opens his yap again.

Honestly, I'd like to see Pek step up and throttle this guy.

There's really no excuse for Barea and Cunningham pouting during the game. I don't know any of these guys... but I can tell by watching that Barea plays selfishly. I don't know if that extends to the locker room or not. And, Love plays selfishly at times, too. (Just watch the next time he doesn't take a shot for a few minutes... there will be a wasted possession or two as he takes a step-back 3 or other forced shot.)

The difference is that Love is the league's 2nd leading scorer. And 2nd leading rebounder. For the most part, Barea leveraged a two-game stretch in the NBA Finals into a larger contract than his play probably warranted.

Love will win this one. That's the way of the NBA. There's a pecking order. And Barea is nowhere near the top of it.

Oy - it's really too bad we didn't keep Burke and ship off JJ in the off-season.

Pek is not an enforcer. Not his personality.

No you're right, bleed...Pek is a gentle giant and would never get in anyone's face. And Adelman seems too detached to get involved with a deteriorating clubhouse. Rubio seemed to try to sooth the wounds tonight by saying he didn't notice any pouting on the bench. But he also said that if there were pouting, that would be unacceptable. And that tells you a lot about Ricky...he's more comfortable playing it right down the middle and not ruffling feathers. The only guy with any guts on this team is JJ, and Abe is right, JJ is going to lose to Kevin every time because Kevin has the numbers.

The more I think about it, the angrier I get at Adelman. I have always had a lot of respect for him, but if a clubhouse is really "teetering on the brink", that's on the coach. I just don't think Adelman has it in him to make this team better.

So, JJ gets traded to a second round pick, the chemistry continues to circle the drain, and the team staggers to another season with no playoffs. Granted I'm a little crabby stuck in Charles deGaulle for nine hours because fucking Delta overbooked my flight (oh my are they going to pay for this one!), but my patience is running thin for these post game comments.
