Who said it was a "good one?"

I'm just saying it's not a reason to hang on to Cunningham. His grit and defensive versatility? Of course. But that shot...yuck. Plus, it doesn't draw fouls, his defender can leave him and position for the rebound. It's just not good offense. Maybe with another shooter/shot creator like Neal, we would have something else to rely on.

Maybe. Cunnigham's free throw streak was embarrassing. And, maybe they find spacing in other ways without him taking that 18 foot jumper.

Cunningham for Neal is a huge win for the Wolves IF it got pulled off. Neal's the far more valuable player and we could use his shooting, no doubt about it. He's been on my radar ever since the Spurs let him go.

Second unit becomes: Barea, Neal, Bud, Mbah a Moute, Turiaf.

Pretty damn solid on paper. The big question then becomes... do we have a good enough facilitator on the second unit to maximize the talents of the other four players... cough cough Barea... If he continues to be a ball hog, then it doesn't matter who we have. We just won't have good bench play with him out there.

Neither Barea nor Neal is a good facilitator. But each can handle it enough if they aren't the primary guy. They could conceivably share the role, right?

If we can get Neal we would let Hummel walk and sign Varndo from the D-League to play PF for us. He would give us another shot blocker. Maybe we could turn the second unit into a defensive force inside and Neal/Budinger being able to shoot the 3.

I don't see why any MIN fan would want to add ANOTHER combustible attitude to that "clubhouse" right now.

That Dante trade isn't exactly a huge win. A below average player making more money and longer than Dante? Ooh, can I please?

Once again, the team to fleece is Sacramento. They are going nowhere and actually have Lux issues this coming summer.

A great deal for MIN would be something like MIN getting Outlaw and SAC's 2nd, SAC getting DC/Hummel/Price/Butler/Udoh/Ridnour/Neal and all of MIN's and MIL's 2nds from this year, and MIL ending up with a bunch of non-expirings and a future SAC first.

And then if they break up the band in MIA, MIN can maybe send that 2nd to MIA for Cole.

How is Gary Neal a below average player? He's about average considering his role. By no means am I saying he's worthy of starting, but he's a better player than Cunningham. I actually like DC, but it's the truth. Neal's a hair under 10 PPG for his career and a 40% 3P shooter. Couldn't we use that on our bench? Definitely. Most of us have been wanting to have a guy that can go for 20 on any given night off our bench. Well, Neal can. You're gonna have to further explain why this would be a bad trade because I'm not seeing it at all.

I don't know why you like Travis Outlaw so damn much. You've brought him up continuously, but he's a worse player than Gary Neal and you're against him! He's also making about the same as Neal so money's not a big factor in changing an opinion. Pretty sure most would agree that with Budinger back, the Wolves need a backup SG more than they need another SF (Outlaw) too.

A 2nd rounder for Cole? Wow. Aren't you the one who normally calls other people's trade ideas unrealistic?

Jason, I don't care for Outlaw.

I'm not sure of anything he does above average. He doesn't score well. Or shoot well. Or rebound well. And he doesn't even seem willing to try to pass. And if you're not above average at multiple things... you have to be really good at one thing to help a team consistently. I just don't know what that is for Outlaw...

Gary Neal at least can shoot from deep. He's a 40% career 3 point shooter.
