Shabazz heading to Iowa
Shabazz heading to Iowa
Anyone hear who his replacement will be?
Re: Shabazz heading to Iowa
No replacement. He'll still occupy a roster spot.

Great news!!!!!.....I've never cared about the D-League before.....It'll be new to follow his performance.
Re: Shabazz heading to Iowa
I think it would be good for him. He will get actual playing time there to hone his skills. The d-league was good for jeremy lamb last year as he is a rotational player for okc this year. Hopefully, it will be good for shabazz as well.

Good move, not sure why it didn't happen sooner. It will be interesting to see:
--How he reacts to being sent down there
--How he meshes with his teammates on that squad
--And of course the main question: will he actually have some success?
We keep hearing that Adelman likes him, Flip likes him, he plays hard in practice, he's improving, blah blah blah. But all I've seen is a guy who underachieved in college, stunk in the summer league, and has done very little in the garbage minutes he's gotten here. Beyond that he has the blankest stare of anyone I've ever seen sitting on the bench. He just looks disconnected/un-interested to me. But maybe that's just how he is when he's not on the court. But it strikes me as odd.
Anyway, I'd love to see this guy start doing something positive, and maybe dominating some scrubs in the D-League could be a good start.

It was probably the right thing to do at this point.
The Shabazz pick becomes even more disheartening when you see how Hardaway Jr., the Greek Freak and Trey Burke have been performing thus far this season. Burke was just named Western Conference rookie of the month. McCollum we be activated next week and we'll start seeing another example of the types of draft decisions made by quality front offices.

Two reactions to this. First, it's about freakin' time! Second, this could be a strong indication that Budinger will be back very soon. I think one reason Shabazz wasn't sent to the D-League sooner is that we would have actually needed him to play some minutes if any of our regular rotation wings went down with an injury.

Q, I think you are right. I think it was more of a need for practicing then games, but with Bud back we don't need him for practice.
