Who wants Barea, and is what they are willing to give up an improvement?

Shved played fairly well the first third of last season. But he was terrible the last two-thirds of last season and so far this season. As Abe pointed out, Shved is a fringe NBA player regardless of position -- emphasis on the word "fringe." JJ's track record speaks for itself. His problem this season is that he's playing with D-League caliber teammates in the second unit. Twice in the last several games the bench totaled 5 points with JJ getting all 5. JJ isn't good enough to carry the second unit. But who is?

I just think whatever potential Shved has to unlock is being neutralized by playing off the ball with JJ who is mainly dribbling and looking for his own. On the flip side, Shved is playing so bad off the ball that JJ probably has the mind set to look for his own even more than he normally does.

With Chase back I'd rather see those two guys as the regular 2nd unit backcourt, and move JJ to the role of a guy you bring in when you need energy and scoring (mainly in situations where we fall behind by 10 or more). But I don't think JJ would accept this role and that's why I say try to trade him. It's a gamble and could fail miserably, but at least you still have Price on the bench (who ironically may be an upgrade over JJ as the 2nd unit point guard anyway).

seriously man what do you expect when BAREA is the only true scorer off the bench? Its like jj playing with 4 other imaginary players when he's thrown out there. the coach is leaving him out to dry with 4 guys who should be out the league or in the d-league each night. seriously barea needs way more offensive help if you want him to be a good player. every unit needs more than 1scorer. all teams gotta do is pressure barea all night andn ot worry about the 4 other guys out there playing with him. SIMPLE dont be foolish brutha.

Actually with Adelman's regular rotation JJ is always playing with either K-Love or Pek, and also some minutes with Martin. The real problem is the tandem of him and Shved playing together--neither guy benefits.

But in general I don't like the way JJ plays point guard. He's got a scorers mentality, but he's not an efficient scorer. Not to mention other than drawing an offensive foul now and then he gives us nothing on defense. He's so small guys shoot and pass over him without problem. But possibly the worst thing about him is the decisions he makes in the 4th quarter. He takes ill-advised shots early in the shot-clock. Now and then a big shot goes in and he looks like a hero, but this season those instances have been rare.

I'd rather our backup point guard play in the same flow as what Ricky brings us. Keep the ball moving and create shots within this flow. I think Shved can be this guy, possibly. If anything it's the best chance of him getting back to what we saw the first half of his rookie season, which is a player that would be valuable to the rotation.

MEH....... sometimes yeah but always isnt correct. besides that if he is in there with love/martin & pek every time like you say the guys are usually gassed for playing 40 mins each night bc jj is the entire bench. i know im right about that.
