One Reason for the Loss Tonight

Post by Coolbreeze44 »

And no, it wasn't the refs. Our dumbass head coach left his starting point guard on the bench for a 10 minute stretch in the 2nd half. It literally cost us the game. Once he brought him back in, finally, there wasn't enough time left. Bring him back 3 minutes earlier and I guarantee you we win. He had 13 assists and 9 boards in 30 minutes. Give him 3 more minutes and we never would have fallen behind at the end. Just assinine.

I can't decide if it was Barea's 5 turnovers or LRMaM's minus 14 in 14 minutes myself.

Well Barea was on the court at the expense of the guy who was in control of the game during the comeback. So Iguess it's his 5 TO's.

Couldn't agree more--I was texting my buddy at about the 6 minute mark asking why he wasn't back in the game. Just beyond stupid to leave JJ out there that long. Ricky was pulled with a minute left in the third, he should have been back in at the 8 minute mark of the 4th.

One other thought...Quincy Lewis should not speak, ever. God bless him he seems like a nice guy, but how did he get a job in front of a camera as an analyst?

I would take Quincy Lewis on loop for 24 hours straight before I would take one more minute of Shannon Sharpe.

We lost for a lot of reasons. We lost because our defense was horrible in the first half, which seems to be a trend of late. We lost because our bench, including Barea, was just awful. We lost because Rubio made a crucial turnover on a pass he tried to get to Pek with about a minute left when we were down 2. And we lost because of a blatant missed call by the ref.

At the end of the day though, I put the most blame on our bench. They were a collective 2-12 and scored 5 points. That is just pathetic. Adelman decided it was time to put Shved out of his misery and instead plugged Hummel in to sub for Martin in the 2nd half as we were making our comeback. And he blew two very nice looks on 3-balls that would have given us a little bit of breathing room. That's not to pin the blame on him more than any of our other bench fodder, but the guy is on the roster precisely to hit those shots. We desperately need a healthy and fully functioning Chase Budinger back in the lineup.

So Adelman staying with that bench for too long had nothing to do with the loss? Okay.

Who is worse? Quincey Lewis, Shannon Sharpe, Michael Irvin, or Deion Sanders? Don't understand how any of those guys keep jobs in broadcasting.

No one thinks, Wow our starting pg scored 4 pts again ? Imo all starters need to score more than that regardless of other contributions.
We blame the bench for the lack of scoring but give Rubio a free pass? "He would try and pass in a game of one on one at this point".

Couldn't Shabbaz have gotten us no points tonight? I agree that eventually these close losses have to fall on Adelman. Close games are where great coaches do the right thing. I haven't seen anything from Adelman to show me that he has the answers for this team. his is ridiculous. And crying for a foul when down 2 is no way to change this team into a winning culture that is for sure.
