No Kobe Tommorow

Post by tpoff217 »

Looks like Kobe is out 6 weeks with a fracture in his knee. I don't know if this is good or not, they were playing better without him. But, it will be interesting to see who plays point guard for them since all the Lakers PG's are hurt and Kobe has had the honor of playing point guard.

Kobe was starting to heat up a bit over the last couple of games, so I actually think this is helpful to us (unfortunate for Kobe of course). Keep in mind that they are now scraping the bottom of the barrel in terms of their PG depth chart. Blake, Nash, and Farmar are out too I believe.

Rubio should definitely apply some early backcourt pressure to disrupt them getting into their halfcourt sets. This is usually wasted energy when pressuring guys like Chris Paul or other really established PGs, but now it looks like they may need a SG unaccustomed to setting up the offense to start at PG for them. We should be all over that.

I was just about to make a thread for this.

"Kobe Bryant has a fracture of the lateral tibial plateau in his left knee. He is expected to miss 6 weeks."

We should absolutely tap on LA's ass Friday. No Steve Blake, no Kobe, no Farmar.

On another note, this sucks as an NBA fan. Kobe's been one of my favorite NBA players since I was a kid. Hate to see the injuries pile up on him, especially so late in his career.
