Re: I think it is time
Instead of trading our star for pieces, why aren't we looking to trade our pieces for a second star. As far as I'm concerned, everyone but Love is tradeable including Ricky and Pek. Love is one of the few stars in the league without a second star on his team and it shows in the playoff standings as there are few teams especially in the West who only have 1 star that are in the playoffs if the season ended today. We need to be the team going after the Kyrie's and Cousins', etc. I don't care if we trade multiple future firsts. We need a second bonafide star. Right now it is just Love and a bunch of role players of which a couple are good role players, but none of them are stars. Good teams are built with at least 2 stars and we only have 1.

Maybe we should realize that the Adelman system isn't a great fit for Rubio and Pek, and that you have to have some athleticism in today's NBA.
Can't put it on the coach on a guy who cant make a jumpshot or a guy who won't just dunk the damn ball
Re: I think it is time
I agree with both Q and Kahns, although I disagree on making Rubio available unless we could get Irving, Wall or Lillard in exchange which of course would not happen. We need to at least wait until next summer before we pull the trigger on any Love or Rubio deal. But I would be open to dealing anyone else on this roster before the February trade deadline.

My reply is to the first post in this thread which is the only one I read: No, you do not trade Love or any other major pieces right now...unless a deal was offered that you simply couldn't refuse.
Obviously this team is beyond frustrating right now: they beat a good team one night and inexplicably lose to a bad team the next. The bench is atrocious. Ricky can't shoot. Brewer and Martin look great for stretches of the season and terrible for other stretches. Rookies continue to ride the pine (why is Shabazz not in the D-League yet?--the guy needs to play somewhere!).
Despite all the above, and the fact that being a Wolves fan is often as fun as being waterboarded at Guantanamo, you have to give this team more time. They are 27 games in and a game under .500, but after the Clippers game and the Christmas break, a very favorable 13 game stretch begins. Bud should be back and maybe Rony too.
If, and this is a big IF, they get something going in these 13 games, say a 10-3 mark, that could propel them to finish out the year strong and take a step in the right direction by making the playoffs. Winning cures a lot of what ails a team, even one with this many visible issues.
Right now I think things could go either way, they have as good of a chance as stepping it up as they do being buried in the standings by mid-season. But for right now it simply has to play out.
